Aaron’s Amazing Australian Adventures
Australia is such a huge place. It has so many interesting things to do and see. However, when I was young, I never went on any holidays outside of Perth. Finally, when I turned twenty-three years old, I had the chance to go on my big Australian adventure and I had two weeks to do it in.
My first stop was Melbourne. The weather was terrible. It was very windy, and it rained most of the time. However, I wanted to see the Twelve Apostles, which are a bunch of famous rocks in the ocean. It was a long bus ride, but it was well worth the trip. I managed to get a photo of me showing how strong the wind was. Can you see me holding onto the fence? It was scary. The next day in Melbourne was much nicer. The sun was shining, so I took a ride on Puffing Billy, which is a famous train that takes you into the forests. I got to feed some kangaroos. They even posed for a photo.
After Melbourne, I caught a plane to Sydney. The weather was great in Sydney, and so were the sights. I saw the Sydney Opera House, and I got to climb Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was pretty scary at the top, but the view was amazing. Next, I went to the nearby Chinese Garden of Friendship where I dressed up in a Chinese costume. I ran around the park taking silly pictures. A Japanese tourist let me take a silly photo with her. She thought I was a bit strange, but I had a great time in Sydney.
The next part of my Australian adventure took me to Queensland. This was probably the best part of my trip. First, I went to Universal Studios. There were no people there, so I didn’t have to wait for any rides. Second, I got to go snorkelling by the Great Barrier Reef. I’m sure I found Nemo. I also saw a shark, which chased me back to the boat. Third, I saw a traditional Aboriginal performance. One performer played the didgeridoo while the other danced. It was very interesting.
My amazing Australian adventure had now come to an end. I needed to return to my home. As you can see from the photos, it really was amazing. I still remember that trip, even though I did it around twenty years ago. I’m so happy that my first trip around Australia was a lot of fun and one that I will never forget.
