Conformance testing and interoperability (C&I) in transport layer

Most expensive layer in man-hours spend (OPEX) for the network operatorWhere C&I will have a major impact for network operators, in particular, in the developing countriesA global C&I program will contribute towards minimising the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the network operator

Conformance testing and interoperability (C&I) in session control layer

Many SDO/Fora C&I activities, which does not assist the network operatorNeed to have agreement between the SDO/Fora industries to work towards one globally acceptable C&I programCertainly will contribute towards more efficient network operator businesses and more cost effective and affordable telecoms/ICT products and services

Conformance testing and interoperability (C&I) in application layer

Open standards, open Application Programming Interfaces (API’s) which can provide affordable telecom/ICT services and in particular for developing countriesA challenge for the C&I program, but certainly viable in a Converged Telco, IT and Web domain society

Conformance testing and interoperability (C&I) in support systems layer

Major cost factor for the network operators from a TCO perspectiveA global C&I program that integrates the Telco, IT and Web domains is requiredRequirement is for managed end-to-end products and services in a multi-technology, multi-vendor equipment, multi support systems environment

A recommended step-by-step C&I implementation strategy

Step 1: There are many C&I industry role players… utilise what has been developed, do not duplicate, but agree to work together Step 2: Network operators need to satisfy customer requirements from an end-to-end perspective – adopt and deploy one integrated globally certified C&I process and program
