During the mission the participants had the opportunity to meet relevant prospective clients from the private and (semi) governmental spheres like TIGEM state farms ( part of the Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock), Chambers of Commerce, sector organisations, dairy companies and relevant Cattle Breeders Associations. Turkeygivesabadexaminanimalhusbandry.Whiletheexportandimportfigurescreatedanxietyinanimalhusbandry, the Meat and Milk Association's 2017 Annual Sector Evaluation Report contained strikinginformation.Accordingtothereport,exportsoflivestockandcattlelivestockarecompletelyreset,whileimportsofcattlelivestockincreasedby4581%in2017,cattleimportsincreasedby72%.Breedingsmallcattleimportsincreasedby757%andbrokethenewrecord.Thereporthasverydetailedevaluationsonanimalhusbandry.Inparticular,theproductionandexportgrowthinBrazil.Turkeybrokerecordsinimportsinalmosteveryfieldofanimalhusbandry.Meatproductionisdowncomparedto2016.Themajorityofthecattleimportsthattookplacein2017werefromUruguaywith35percent,Brazilwith19percent,andCzechRepublicwith9percent.Turkeydid30%ofitscattleimportsfromGermany,19%fromtheCzechRepublic,and17%fromAustria.While50percentoftheimportationofslaughtercattleiscomingfromBrazilandSpain,nearly20per centof the imported small livestockarenot stud,ofwhich85per centareimportedfromAustralia.
The number of finished cattle that have left Ireland destined for Turkish shores equals 1,615 head; this is the
