Background & Establishment
• Initial Stages• National Database Organization (NDO) was established
under Ministry of Interior • National Database was possible due to information
gathered through “National Data Forms” during the Population Census 1998
• The Emergence of NADRATo cater for a cohesive and unified approach in both
Registration and Social fields NADRA was created on 10 March 2000 by merging the National Database Organization (NDO) and Directorate General of Registration

• The National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) is functioning under the NADRA Ordinance 2000 ratified by the Parliament.• NADRA is placed under the Ministry of Interior, but

The Computerized National ID Card (CNIC) includes a sophisticated array of security features to safeguard against fraud and improper use. The CNIC contains machine-readable information, although characteristics can be seen with the naked eye and others must be verified using optical aids. The special characteristics of the CNIC will protect its integrity.

Among other cards, NADRA Ordinance envisages issuance of cards to Pakistani workers/emigrants and citizens /resident abroad and Pakistanis holding dual nationality who have got themselves registered under the NADRA Ordinance. This card is known as the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). On account of its utility, it is an identification document usable in place of NIC whenever required. However NICOP is more than just an identification document.

e-Vehicle Management Systems
• Due to growing security and safety issues, that like individuals, vehicles should also be identified, mapped against its owner and be tracked and monitored considering the privacy.
• It is Criminals use vehicles as their mean of transport and to hit their desired targets.
• Taking this dilemma of security and safety into consideration, NADRA has developed multiple “e-Vehicle Management” systems as per the client requirements and needs.
• It incorporates Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) technology to identify vehicles approaching 'manned' & 'unmanned' check-posts at entry/exit with real-time monitoring at the central control room.

• NADRA Kiosk has been developed to carry-out various day-to-day transactions which involve payment of utility/telecom bills, purchase of prepaid phone cards, disburses cash and acts as merchant bank.
• For easy access of the citizens, 24 hours working Kiosks have been deployed at various public places across the country especially in congested and low income group areas.
• Now citizens do not have to stand in long queues for their utility bill payments due to short banking hours, hence enjoying time freedom round-the-clock.

• Authentication documents hold no integrity without a proper verification mechanism.
• NADRA has introduced a very easy-to-use & access tool for verification of citizens in the country named as Verisys.
• To verify the issued CNIC and avoid any fraudulent activities NADRA launched Verisys
• It is an authentication process to provide online verifications of Pakistani citizens to the government, private and corporate sectors for bringing in transparency, validation, elimination of fraud & forgery.
• This is a web-based real-time activity displaying the front and rear image of the CNIC with added hidden information for verifications.
• Verification can also be done by sending SMS through mobile.

Civil Registration Management System (CRMS)
• In order to improve civil registration system, CRMS was introduced by NADRA at Union Council Level.
• Under this system event of Birth, Marriage, Divorce and Death are captured, which very vital in nature.
• The pilot project was launched in 100 UCs of Lahore and till today more than 4,192 UCs are onboard.
• NADRA has provided software, certificate paper and also imparting training to UCs Secretaries.
• The project is up-and-running for last 3 years.

Complaint Management System
NADRA
Complaint Management System logs and resolves the complaints received directly from applicants (visiting in person) or through applications, E-mail & Fax. A team is organized to respond to applicants and resolve queries by using CRM and CMS applications with a view to persuade concerned branches/people to expedite the complaint resolution. Complaints Centers in addition to resolving complaints also acting as information centers providing all information regarding NADRA’s products.

Pakistan Cards
• Pakistan Cards, issued as the part of flood relief assistance in Sindh.
• NADRA has so far disbursed Rs 6.18 billion through 749,779 Pakistan Cards, Smart Cash Cards, to the heads of the rain-affected families in Sindh.
• 72 centers of NADRA issuing Pakistan Cards in 7 districts of Sindh.
• 26 complaint centers.• Sindh government is asked to take necessary measures to
ensure the endorsement of the right person for cash facility.
Illegal Migrants
• No illegal migrants registered by NADRA.• No CNIC issued to them.• Bio metric Alien watch List created for Afghan and illegal
immigrants.• NARA (National Alien Registration Authority) is responsible for
the registration of illegal immigrants.
Computerized Arms Licenses
• Revalidation Process.• Original booklet to be kept by NADRA.• Computerization done for the licenses issued by the Ministry
