Process Overview

The client has the choice whether or not they wish to have their hard disks destroyed onsite or offsite. In both situations we will arrive at the client’s site, and contact will be made with the on site client representative. Our vehicle will be parked at a pre-arranged location suitable for the collection of hard drives to take place. Should the hard drives not have been previously stored in secure transportation cages, they will now be transferred into cages and secured with “tamper evident” tags before being placed in the N2S vehicle. To maintain data security, this operation should take place in an area where access can be restricted to authorized personnel only.

Offsite: For offsite destruction, we will load the hard disks into our secure N2S vehicle and we will return directly to the N2S premises for shredding to take place. At no time will the vehicle be left unattended, and on arrival unloading shall take place immediately into our fully alarmed buildings. These buildings have full CCTV coverage inside and out which can be remotely accessed at any time only by our authorized staff.The hard drives will now have their unique serial numbers logged before being having the PCB and potentially hazardous Silica gel sachet removed for disposal and then will be placed within the shredder and completely destroyed. The resultant “shreddings” will then be sorted into separate materials for recycling.

Onsite: By having your hard drives onsite, you have that extra piece of mind knowing that your hard drives are being destroyed without having any of them leave your premises. If the hard drive destruction is to take place at the customer’s premises, we will gather the hard drives and load them onboard our vehicle. The process from here is exactly the same as if we were shredding the drives at the N2S premises. The hard drives will have their unique serial numbers logged before being placed within the shredder and completely destroyed. The resultant “shreddings” will be transported back to our premises where the materials will be sorted and fully recycled.

Once hard drive destruction is complete, whether it is onsite or offsite, a certificate of hard drive destruction will be created ready for issue to the client.

Data Shredding

Using the latest disk destruction technology, N2S can put customer’s hard drives beyond use by physically destroying the data carrying “platter” at their own premises. Many hundreds of drives can be destroyed per day with no disruption to the clients “on site operations” thus ensuring that data security remains intact as no functional drives will leave site. The hard drives can then be safely transported and dismantled at our own facility and the component parts fully recycled according to current WEEE legislation.

• N2S are able to store customer equipment for long or short periods.

• On arrival a full inventory is created of all equipment to be stored and communicated to the customer.

• The equipment is taken to the N2S storage facility and labelled appropriately.

• The N2S storage area is completely separate from all other N2S activities.

• All security is tightly controlled, including CCTV.

• Customers equipment can be returned or despatched to any location within 4 hours notice.
