Scholarship in Teaching AwardTraining Program in Advanced Reproductive Techniques

The Case Western Reserve School of Medicine Scholarship in Teaching Awards is an annual program designed to recognize faculty contribution to education from the preceding year and promote undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education teaching as a scholarly activity.

Teaching approaches considered scholarly are characterized by 1) purposeful planning 2) systematic implementation and 3) reflection and assessment for improvement. The result should be an academic product that is actively shared and that will support the development of a community of teaching scholars.

This award was given out at the Case Medical School Education Retreat on March 12, 2015. ACRM’s hands-on ART training program has previously been twice-recognized with this prestigious Scholarship in Teaching Award, in 2013 and again in 2014. Besides the ART Training Program, ACRM’s Summer Internship program has also been thrice-recognized with this prestigious Scholarship in Teaching Award, in 2011, 2013 and 2014 respectively.

“We experienced a homely environment and received unrivaled hospitality from the Senior Staff. The course is run very

well and it meets the demands and expectations of the candidates.”

Bindu Garg, MD, DGO, FICMCHGurgaon, India

“The hands-on training and small teacher to student ratio

was good. I am the type of learner that needs to do the task

to learn - the time for practice, repetition, and asking questions

helped me learn the material.”Aimee Parker, MTPoughkeepsie, USA

“I found the in-depth coverage of topics, customized personal training by the outstanding teaching faculty and extensive

quality control, as the most effective aspects of this course.”Shubhadeep Roychoudhury, PhDSilchar, India

“The hands-on part of the training and the expert Trainers - it’s the

best training in the world and I encourage everyone to have it”.Osama Abdalmageed, MDAssiut, Egypt

“For me as a beginner, the whole course was very effective. Techniques such as ICSI, vitrification and embryo transfer

were practiced so many times that at the end, you feel as if you have been performing them for a long time. The

training is an amazing opportunity for those involved in the field of reproductive medicine - A MUST DO”.

Shazia Magray, MD, MRCOGDubai, UAE

“The module has the scope to give more time in areas which the trainee finds tough, so the course is flexible according to one’s

needs. The complete hands on experience is like no place else.”

Priya Mehta, MBBS, DGOFaridabad, India

“The working environment was very comfortable and the

hands-on training coupled with the didactic lectures were very effective.”

Jason Krumholtz, MDPoughkeepsie, USA

“The most effective aspect is having the one-on-one attention of the ART Trainer.”Gulfam Ahmad, PhD, MCELahore, Pakistan

“This is the most wholesome course on embryology that I have ever come across.

The difficult aspects like trouble-shooting of ICSI or recent advances like vitrification were made very clear to us. Overall, the

techniques taught here are tremendously useful in day-to-day practice.”Shweta Pati, MBBSKolhapur, India

“I’m planning to take another course in future to develop my skills even more.”Ibrahim Alogaili, BScAmman, Jordan

“The highlight of my experience would have to be receiving my hands on andrology technique certificate - it was a lot of

work but I am proud that I was able to complete the training requirements. I am taking away a lot from the experience.”Rian Salasin

Pennsylvania, USA
