The direction of air can be controlled wherever youwant to cool by adjusting the horizontal louver andthe vertical louver.

How to Attach Drain PanThe air conditioner employs a proper drain method whereby the con@nsed water (moisture removed fromthe air} is drained to the outside.in very humid weather, (and for reverse cycle models in the reverse mode) ex_ssive condensate waterremoved from the air may cause some water to collecL To remove this excess water you can install thedrain pan as detai!_ below. Air Filter Cleaning

The air filter should be checked at least twice a month to see if cleaning is necessary.Trapped particles in the filter will build up and block the airflow. This reduces the coolingcapacity and also causes an accumulation of frost on the cooling coils.

1. Open the inlet grille upward by pulling out the bosom of the inlet gdlle.(a)in another case, you can open the inlet grille downward by pulling out the top of the inletgrille.(b)

2. Remove the air filter from the front gdlle assembly by pulling the air filter up or downslightly.

3. Wash the filter using lukewarm water below 40_ (104_).(c)4. Gently shake the excess water from the filter completely. Replace the filter.

(_NOTE: Mark A of inlet grille means opening direction.

How to Install the Unit

1. To avoid vibration and noise, make sure the unit is installed securely and firmly.2. Instal[ the unit where the sunlight does not shine dir_tly on the unit.

If the unit receives dir_t: sunlight, build an awning to shade the cabinet.3. There should be no obstacle, like a fence, within 20" which might restrict heat radiation from the

_ndenser.

4. To prevent reducing performance, insta[I the unit so that louvers of the cabinet are not blocked.5. Install the unit a little obliquely outward not to avoid leaking the _ndensed water into the room

(about 1/2" or 1/4 bubble with level).6. Install the unit with its bottom portion 30~60 '' above the floor level7. Stuff the foam between the top of the unit and the wa!l to prevent air and insects from getting into

the room.

8. The power _rd must be connected to an independent circuit. The green wire must be grounded.9. Connect the drain tube to the base pan hole in the rear side if you need to drain (_nsult a dealer.}

Plastic hose or equivalent may be conn_t_ to the drain tube.

How to Use the Reversible Inlet Grille

The grille is designed to clean the filter both upward and downward.

1. Remove the screws which fasten the cabinet atboth sides and at the back.

base pan handle and pulling forward while

3. Cut the window sash sea] to the proper length, Peel

off the backing and attach the Foam°PE to theunderside of the window sash.

5. Pull each Frame curtain fully to each windowsash track, and pull the bottom window sashdown behind the Top retainer bar until itmeets.

6. Attach each Frame curtain the window saslh

by using screws (Type C.) (See Fig. 10)

CAUTION: For security purpose, reinstallscrews(Type A) at cabinet's sides.

8. Cut the Foam-strip to the proper length andinsert between the upper window sash andthe lower window sash.(See Fig. 12)

9. Attach the Window locking bracket with ascrew (Type C.) (See Fig. 13)

10. Attach the front grille to the _binet byinserting the tabs on the grille into the tabson the front of the cabinet. Push the grille inuntil it snaps into place.(See Fig.14)

11. Lift the inlet grille and secure it with a screw(Type A) through the, front grille.(See Fig. 14)

12. Window installation of room air conditioner is

now completed. See ELECTRICAL DATA for

attaching power cord to electrical outlet.

• You may hear a pinging noise caused by water being picked up and thrown against the condenseron rainy days or when the humidity is high. This design feature helps remove moisture and improveefficiency

• You may hear the thermostat click when the compressor cycles on and off.

• Water wNI coilect in the base pan during high humidity or on rainy days. The water may overflow

and drip from the outdoor side of the unit.

• The fan may run even when the compressor does not.

Abnormal Operation

Check the house fuse/circuit breaker box and

replace the fuse or reset the breaker.

Make sure there are no curtains, blinds, or furniture

blocking the front of the air _nditioner.

Set the TEMP Control to a lower number

• When the air conditioner is first turned on

you need to allow time for the room to cool down.

• Check for open furnace floor registersand cold air returns.

• Set the air conditioner's vent to the closed position.
