1 The LORD said to Abram: "Go out from your land, your relatives, and your father's house to the land that I will show you.

2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
GENESIS 12:1-4
3 I will bless those who bless you, I will curse those who treat you with contempt, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you.
GENESIS 12:1-4
4 So Abram went, as the LORD had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was 75 years old when he left Haran.
THE DECISIONS YOU MAKE TODAY DETERMINE THE
STORIES YOU TELL TOMORROW.
SOMETIMES, THE BEST DECISION YOU CAN MAKE IS TO GO WHEN IT WOULD BE
EASIER TO STAY.
I DECIDED TO GO
God called Abraham (Abram) out of idolatry when he was in Ur of
Chaldees — city devoted to worshipping
moon god Nannar.
GENESIS 12:1
1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.
To go somewhere else,
leave where you are.
To step toward your destiny, you have to step away from your
security.
LEAVE HOME, FAMILY,
TRADITIONS, MATERIAL COMFORT
THE LORD WILL NEVER SEND US ON
A JOURNEY WITHOUT GIVING US
A PROMISE.
GENESIS 12:2-3
2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
GENESIS 12:2-3
3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse;and all peoples on earthwill be blessed through you.”
EVEN THOUGH ABRAHAM HAD NO DETAILS, HE WENT
ANYWAY. HE BELIEVED GOD.
THE SIMPLE AND PURE ACT OF FAITH
IS ENOUGH TO CARRY US ON.
GENESIS 12:44 So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran.
Imagine if he didn’t go!You can’t imagine the
blessings if you obey or what you miss if
you don’t.
What does god want you to want?
What step of faith do you need to
take?
GO PUBLIC WITH MY FAITH
What about you? What faith step do you
need to take?
- Start a small group- Interview for a job- Vision for a ministry- Have more children- Write a book- Foster or adopt- Mission trip- Ask her out on a date
Why don’t we go?
- Afraid of failure, ridicule- Aren’t sure of ourselves- Do it later!- Takes faith to please God
Hebrews 11:88 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
Your story: by faith, I decided
to go. By fear, I decided
to stay.
You don’t have to have the
faith to finish – just have the faith
to get started.
Take the first step.
Didn’t have the faith to believe god for all of this – had faith to
start
Exodus 3:10-11
10 So now, GO. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring My people the Israelites out of Egypt."
Exodus 3:10-11
11 But Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?"
Moses said, “What if they don’t believe me or
listen to me?”Throw staff to ground—
snake (and he ran); Pick up
Hand in pocket—Leprous as snow
Take water from Nile and pour ground—blood
Exodus 4:10-12
10 Moses said to the Lord, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since You have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue."
Exodus 4:10-12
11 The Lord said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord?
Exodus 4:10-12
12 Now GO; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say."
Who wants to worship a dead idol when you’ve met the Living God?
You Can’t walk on water unless you
get out of the boat.
You have to step out to find out.
Imagine if you hadn’t.Jesus left doing
carpentry to go and teach.
Disciples go into the world.
