Question/Problem
First we have to Recognise the problemand we need to under stand what we
already know then we need to make an
observation about the thing that we are
experimenting with.

Inference/Hypothesis
An inference is a conclusion about our
observation. After making a inference
we need to translate the inference into
a hypotheses. A hypotheses is atestable explanation for the details you
observe and another detention of
hypothesis: A hypothesis is an
educated guess about how things work.

Observations
We have to record observation about
the experiment then we analyse our
data to make sure that it follow our
hypothesis.

Conclusion
Once your experiment is complete, youcollect your measurements and analyzethem to see if they support your hypothesisor not.

Evaluation
What we need to make the experiment
much better if we did it again.

Variables
A variable is theobject that
change the
experiment.

Bias
Bias describes thetendency or
preference for a
particular result or
outcome.

Theory
A theory is anexplanatory statementthat's been repeatedlyconfirmed through
experimental testing.

Law
A law generalizes a body ofobservations. At the time it ismade, no exceptions have beenfound to a law.

Animalcamouflage
How does camouflage effect vision?
People would choose the contrasting colour over the
matching colour of the paper
Sicorse, one a 4 page of paper green paper, one a4green paper cut in one inch square, one a4 Brownepaper cut in one inch square.
Question/Problem
Hypothesis
Materials
1. Cut one page of green and one page of Brownepaper into one inch square2. Arrange the squares onto one a piece of greenpaper3. Give you're subjects 5 seconds to grab as manysquares as they can, one pice at a time.4. Record how many green pieces and how manyBrowne pieces that people take.5. Tally the result

Conclusion
Evaluation
My hypotheses was right because our data show thatmore people collected the un contrasting colour overthe contracting colour
I think that we should have un contrastingcolour like orange and purple

Egg experiment
Question/Problem
Hypothesis
Method
How can I tell the different between cookedeggs or uncooked eggs
I think if we rolled the cooked egg it will spin really will.
1 hard boiled egg, 2 raw eggs
1. Spin each egg in a hard surface2. Observe and recorde
We tried to but them in water It didn't work. Then we shockthem and it worked we didn't hear the middle eggs so wethink that it is the one that is cooked. We also tried to sniffthem but it didn't work.

We also tried to spin them we saw that one egg isfaster and two spun slower.
My hypotheses matched the result really willcause one egg sun faster and the other twospun slower.
I think we should repeatthe experiment or put
more raw egg

Floating paperclips
Question/Problem
Hypothesis
Materials
Does the temperature of water effect theamount of floating paperclips?ObservationWhen the water was moving the paperclips sunk, andwhen the water was still the paperclips floated and themore paperclips the less water moving. The hot water would probably not be as stablebecause the hot water density is more so it will notbe able to hold as much and it would be harder to butthem.
Warm water, cold water, room temperaturewater, 3 containers, paperclips
MethodFirst put each different water in the container. Then put
as many paperclips as you can on each container tosee what holds more and to see what is the one that isharder to put the paperclips
8/13/2019 My Scientific Method Book by Shahad
19/25
Observation
Conclusion
Evaluation
The hot water didn't work because gravity wasbulling the paperclips it just floated for 5 secondssand then it will automatically sink. The
paperclips in the cold water joined really fast itlooked like the paper clips had magnet. The roomtemperature water worked really will.
My hypotheses was perfectly right the hotwater didn't work at all the paperclips stayedthere for 5 seconds the it just sink.
Next time we should have a better tool to drop
the paperclips because when we were buttingthe paper clips in the hot water it will burn usso Mabel we should make a taller tool to but thepaperclips in the hot water.

Popcorn vs raisins
Problem
Observation
Hypothesis
Materials
Will popcorn or raisins float better in carbonated andstill water?
We think that the raisins will only float on thecarbonated water because it is bubbly. We alsothink that the popcorn won't float on any waterbecause it will get soggy.
PopcornRaisins
Lemon carbonated waterTap water4 cups
Carbonated water is bubbly. Popcorn is very light and fluffy.Raisins are wrinkly.

Fill 2 cups up half way with carbonated water and 2 cups half way with still water. In the 1st cup with still water, drop 3 raisins in. Wait 5mins...watch and observe. In the 2nd cup with still water drop 3 popcorn pieces in. Wait 5mins...watch andobserve. In the 1st cup with carbonated water add three popcorn pieces. Wait 5mins...watch
and observe. Finally, add three raisins into the 2nd cup of carbonated water. Wait 5mins...watchand observe.Write down the results.Repeat the test again using different amounts of water for accurate results
www.thevegancrew.com
We got half of our hypotheses wrong because we thought that thepopcorn wouldn't float at all because it will get too soggy and it got soggy,
just didn't sink. The other part of our hypothesis for was correct becausethe raisins in the lemon carbonated water floated and the normal waterraisins sunk. We learned that popcorn's density is less than raisins.
Next time we should use tweezers to put the popcorn and the raisinsinto the liquids so that it will be put in gently and we can also do theexperiment using a longer time period.

Cow farting
Question/Problem
Hypothesis
Materials
Does adding garlic to cows food redoes thereamount of methane?
I think that garlic is going to work because itwork on humans.
20 cows, a tube that fits the cow, garlic, cows food, a pig room

Method
Variable
1- Split the cows in two groups2- Attach the tube to the cows3- Attach the wire to were they fart4- Add garlic to the food and give it to one of thegroups for two weeks5- Take a sample of there fart three times aweek6- Take the sample to the lap to see how muchmethane it reduce

Best laundry detergent
Materials15 5*5 square white fabric, 5 different detergents, soda,
BBQ sauce, coffee,washing machine.

Method1- first take five squares of the white fabric2- stain the fabric squares with soda3- take the other five squares of fabric4- stain them with BBQ5- take the last five sheets of fabric6- stain them with coffee7- Take one peace of stained fabric from each kindof stains8- Pour one kind of detergent in the washingmachine9- put the different kind of stained white fabric inthe washing machine10- do the same thing for the rest of fabrics11- creat a tally of the stains
12- judge the best with 5 the next with 4 and the nextwith 3 and the second last with 2 and the last one witha 113- add the total for each kind of detergent
