• Lionsgate was founded in 1995 by Frank Giustra.• Its first major box office success was American Psycho in the

year 2000, which began a trend of producing and distributing films too controversial for the major American studios. Lions Gate spent $50,000 on an online stock market game entitled, ‘Make a killing with American Psycho’ which invited players to invest in films, actors or musicians using fake Hollywood money.

• The film generated a gross revenue of $34,266,564. After this they produce and distributed more films and became the studio's highest grossing film company.

Lionsgate are well known for there horrors movies and have a large audience. They also have a variety of other genres in film which shows they don’t just stick to one main audience. This would therefore mean that everyone that enjoys Lionsgate films would be able to watch our video. This would also mean that the movie would be able to generate a vast amount of profit.

After researching up about this company, I found out that they do a lot of thriller movies but have a wider variety of horror movies, we would be able to use them as our production company as they have a history of doing thriller movies but they have better history for horror but due to there wide target audience, and this would mean that our film would be able to receive more customers which may help us in the long-term for our film.

• Dimension Films is a production company which is currently part of the Weinstein Company.

• It was founded by Bob Weinstein.• It was formerly used as Bob Weinstein's label within

Miramax Films, to produce and release genre films.

• Overall I think me and my team should go for Lionsgate as they create thriller/slasher movies at a cheaper rate than other companies. This is also because they are well known for there Thrillers and Slasher and this would mean the audience would expect the film we are going to make to come from a company like lions gate.
