MY LIFE PROJECT – WHO IS MY RABB?

The “MY LIFE PROJECT” encompasses five things we need to reach Allah!!

1. Al Insaan – Who am I?

2. Man Rabuuka? Who is my Rabb?

3. Who are my enemies?

4. What is my goal?

5. What must I do?

All praise to Allah...

All praises and thanks due to Allah subhana wa ta'ala - Rabb al Ameen.

Who is the one who will help us during this journey to Allah? Ar Rabb, we

cannot think we are on this journey to go to paradise by ourselves!!!

Therefore we need to know our Rabb in order to feel we cannot go through

this journey without being attached to our Rabb.

Insaan is hasty...

We have talked about how the human being is without guidance, without

knowing Allah, how he is khasimun mubeen (Surah Nahl 16:4 in which Allah

states "khalaqal insana min nutufatin fa idha huwa khasimun mubeen.")

always arguing always disputing.

If we want to remove this characteristic from ourselves, we need to know

man Rabbuka - who is our Rabb!!!

Man Rabbuka...

We are looking at different ayats in the Quran to see who is our Rabb and

we know that the Rubbubiyaat of Allah is the different actions of Allah, how

Allah is providing for us, creating us, taking care of us , reforming us

nurturing us in different ways whether it is for the duniya or the deen.

From the sequence in the Quran the ayat of today and we will see another

instance of how Allah is reforming us.

Surah Baqarah Ayat 26:

Verily, Allah is not ashamed to set forth a parable even of a mosquito or so

much more when it is bigger (or less when it is smaller) than it. And as for

those who believe, they know that it is the Truth from their Lord, but as for

those who disbelieve, they say: "What did Allah intend by this parable?" By

it He misleads many, and many He guides thereby. And He misleads

thereby only those who are Al-Fasiqun (the rebellious, disobedient to

Allah).

Last week the ayat was about a of reforming - Rubbubiyaat ama where

Allah created the sama, the ardh and the provisions in order that we

worship Him alone. If we look at this ayat it is another way of Allah

reforming us. In this ayat how can we understand the rubbubiyat?

Where is the Rubbibiyaat?

Page 3: MY LIFE PROJECT WHO IS MY RABB? - SISTERSNOTES · - Ana ul haqqu min rabbihim – They know it is the truth from their Lord!!! In this ayat how is Allah reforming His creation, upgrading

- Ana ul haqqu min rabbihim – They know it is the

truth from their Lord!!!

In this ayat how is Allah reforming His creation, upgrading them, changing

them from one state to another better one? This ayat is Ar Rubbubiyaat al

khasa – Special Nurturing. A special nurturing from Allah, where Allah

reforms the hearts, He reforms the souls to go to paradise.

How does Allah reform the humans?

To understand the reforming, there are three parts in this ayat:

1) A PARABLE OF A MOSQUITO

la astah - Allah is not ashamed or feeling shy, Allah is negating the

shame from Himself – Nafs Allah(because Hua Rabb) to set/give

mathalan - a parable, something tangible (toudhil mana)to make clear the

meaning of something intangible. We have Surah Al ma’anat which is

intangible and Surah hasiyat which is tangible.

Mathalan ma a - any kind of parable

a datan - even if it is a mosquito or something above (bigger) or below

(smaller) than a mosquito – because huwa Rabb.

When the different ayats of the Quran mentioning mosquitoes, insects,

spiders etc were revealed during the times of the Queresh, they would

negate these ayats by asking questions like: how come these ayats of the

Quran are giving examples of such creatures. So here Allah subhana wa

ta'ala swt is saying He is not shy of giving examples of mosquitoes because

Hua Rabb - He is Rabb!!!

Page 4: MY LIFE PROJECT WHO IS MY RABB? - SISTERSNOTES · - Ana ul haqqu min rabbihim – They know it is the truth from their Lord!!! In this ayat how is Allah reforming His creation, upgrading

2)WISDOM/HIKMAH IN THE PARABLES

There are many different parables giving different examples in the Quran,

and in all these parables there is a tarbiya khasa min Allahi Raab. These

parables draw a picture of the intangible and bring the tangible picture

clear in the mind. It is a different way of nurturing, a special nurturing of

the creation (us) by Allah in order that we can easily understand.

The parables are a special nurturing of Allah and the Rubbubiyaat of

Allah.

this is turbiyah of Allah's creation

to reform our heart, so

Don’t reject or deny this as it is from Allah.

What is Al Wajib?

Al kabool and as shukr -we need to accept & do shukr/ be grateful.

Page 5: MY LIFE PROJECT WHO IS MY RABB? - SISTERSNOTES · - Ana ul haqqu min rabbihim – They know it is the truth from their Lord!!! In this ayat how is Allah reforming His creation, upgrading

We can find a special nurturing of Allah and how He reforms the hearts and

the parables is one of them. After the parable, Allah mentions the people.

3)THE PEOPLE

A parable is one way in which Allah nurtures the hearts of people and the

way to understand this is to ask:

What is the condition of the people after hearing this parable?

People will be divided into two groups, the parables are a reforming and

Allah nurtures his creation but the people are different. How important is

the parable:

Page 6: MY LIFE PROJECT WHO IS MY RABB? - SISTERSNOTES · - Ana ul haqqu min rabbihim – They know it is the truth from their Lord!!! In this ayat how is Allah reforming His creation, upgrading

Who will benefit?

THE BELIEVER - al Ladina amanu!!!

Those who believe and the intensity (of the belief) can increase or

decrease.

here is in the form of a verb as belief can increase or decrease.

They believe in Allah and believe in whatever Allah sends - but this is not

mentioned. The believers have belief in their hearts and what will be their

response? Ana bil haqqu min rabbihim.

Sometimes it is not easy to understand the parable, but when a believer

reads the Quran, because he already has belief he will believe the ayats (the

special nurturing from the Quran) and this will further increase their faith.

l-haqu - the truth from rabbihim.

increases the believer in faith and guidance.

fa a lam na - no doubts in it, those parables and ayats are the truth from

their Rabb and they have no doubts about it.

Ar Rabb ‘specially nurtures’ the believer!!! It is an upgrading of the

believer. This is by itself a reforming. They know it is from Allah and a

means of reforming.

A q ick reforming for the believer – just by saying it is the truth. Even if

they don't understand - they don't argue.

Who is our Rabb?

Our Rabb will reform each of us specially. When we have full belief in the

ayats, even the parables, just by saying/knowing it is the truth by itself is a

Page 7: MY LIFE PROJECT WHO IS MY RABB? - SISTERSNOTES · - Ana ul haqqu min rabbihim – They know it is the truth from their Lord!!! In this ayat how is Allah reforming His creation, upgrading

nurturing. This is the minimum and look at the rewards so imagine the

nurturing when we understand.

Imagine when people understand

the will e increased in Faith - is knowledge of Allah.

The person will be showered with a special nurturing.

This is tarbiya min khasa bi Allah.

THE DISBELIEVER- wa anal ladi Ba kafaru

Already they deny, they are without guidance.

kafar - rejecting and denying the truth

the disp te about the parable.

They will argue even about Allah’s nurturing.

They don't understand it is a nurturing from Allah. Even if you don't

understand?

Khasimun mubeen - always arguing and disputing about Allah even though

Allah created him from a drop (Surah Nahl).

Ya taribuna - they are rejecting and ya tahiruun – they are confused.

the confuse themselves by rejecting and by disputing about Allah.

When there is a rejection there will be more confusion.

Yas dadu kufran - they are not benefiting from the nurturing and

they will be increased in disbelief.

What did Allah intend by this as an example?

All ayats of the Quran are a way of reforming, especially the parables.

Allah Nurtures Everybody!!!

yudillu - the parable misguides the DISBELIEVER, just by disbelief they

will argue and dispute and become more confused because of the covering

on their heart.

- the parable guides the BELIEVER, just by knowing it is from

Allah increases their faith and it guides them. Special nurturing!!!

All Ayats al Qur'an including and especially the parables are the greatest

nurturing from Allah, a divine nurturing, tarbiya khasa rabana.

Page 8: MY LIFE PROJECT WHO IS MY RABB? - SISTERSNOTES · - Ana ul haqqu min rabbihim – They know it is the truth from their Lord!!! In this ayat how is Allah reforming His creation, upgrading

Nothing is greater than a divine nurturing from Allah through the ayats of

the Quran and a special way of nurturing from the ayats is the parable.

The parables in the Qur'an are a special nurturing.

They will reform the human being but it depends on the person.

There are people who are Al-fasiqina

Al-fa siq na - they are already rebellious and so they will be misled

because of the disbelief in the heart.

They will not be nurtured!!!

Page 9: MY LIFE PROJECT WHO IS MY RABB? - SISTERSNOTES · - Ana ul haqqu min rabbihim – They know it is the truth from their Lord!!! In this ayat how is Allah reforming His creation, upgrading

Do we know Rabbihim?

To understand the nurturing we need to ask ourselves what is our reaction

when the ayats of Allah are revealed. Are we always arguing or disputing or

do we believe in the ayat (even if we don’t understand).
