BIRTH

The divorce

•Around five years old my parents split up.

• The first memory of my life was sitting in the front room on my Mom’s lap when they where breaking the news to the kids. I was with my mother and my older brother and sister was with my father.

Page 4: My Life

Nothing seem to matter to me during this time in my life, except keeping my mom happy. This would have been much easier if I took pride in

my grades and staying out of trouble but I didn’t. I was in a constant battle to choose a side, so to help keep my mind off of that I just

played with friends and tried to stay away from the house. I was not abused but my Mom meant

business, she said jump and how high was the only response.

THE DARK AGES (6-15)

Page 5: My Life

The MoveAt the age of 15 my Dad (Ron) got a

promotion and we relocated to Lake Orion Michigan. At the time I thought this was the worst thing ever, but as it turned out this was so good for my life and development. The first year was rough then I found basketball and this truly changed my life.

Basketball

Without basketball I would have flunked out of school. I went from a 1.3 GPA to a 3.3 GPA. Basketball wakened my social life and brought out my competitive spirit.

The Trip Back HomeUtah has always been home to me, after graduation my Dad’s job brought us back to Utah. Back in Utah I enrolled in school, my Grandparents where paying for every thing tuition, books, and a little extra money. I look back and think what my life would be like if I would have finished college the first time, but that was not in the plans. I started dating my wife Shannon and at the age of 19 got her pregnant. My mother with all her words of wisdom always said “if your not smart enough to wrap it, then you better be man enough to support it.” So I dropped out of college and enlisted into the military.

Marriage, Fatherhood, and Military. You would think one of those events would have changed my life and forced Me to grow up. Those did not but what happened in the military did.

This Is The Event That Changed Everything

• The orders had been sent. The firing order was to be six 88 millimeter rounds, then six 120 millimeter rounds to finish them off. Shots rang out in the distance. Captain Hunton, up on his knees, looked for a direct hit, when all of a sudden lighting struck. The flash was so bright it was blinding, followed by a loud thunder-like noise. The “thunder” was so intense and powerful it knocked Captain Hunton off of his knees, and onto his back. Five more jolts impacted the bunker. Confused and dazed Captain Hunton screamed for the shift fire, but it was too late. BOOM… BOOM… BOOM… the 120 millimeter rounds were on their way. I have often wondered what you think about when you realize death is on your door step. I discovered, not much, instinct takes over

• The young live life with the belief they are invincible. Until that day, I was guilty of that thought pattern and lifestyle. This experience taught me, that at any time, at any moment, life can be over. I learned to live life to the fullest. Life is too short to walk around pissed-off at the world or in a state of poor picked on me. If your current situation is bring you down it is time to make a change for the better. Be happy in everything you do.

What’s to Become?• Know with a family and going

back to school to become a teacher I don’t have much time for anything else. Family, teaching and some day coach is what I see in the future. The ride so far has been great would not change it for anything hope the next thirty years will be the same.
