START OF HIS CAREER
He grew up in the Los Angeles area
Attended University of California at Davis where he played Wide Receiver from 1979-1981
He received a bachelor in Psychology
Member of the UC Davis coaching staff from 1982-1985
While earning a masters degree and doctorate in educational psychology from USC he was a graduate assistant from 1986-1987

He then headed to the NFL and worked with the New York Jets as a scout 1989-1991
He worked their while Pete Carroll was the head coach.
From there he was hired as senior athletic director at USC in 1991
He worked there for 16 years and brought their athletic program a huge amount of success.
Hired Pete Carroll who brought their
football program to another level.
CAREER AT SYRACUSE
He was hired at Syracuse in 2004
Immediately started making changes and has brought the athletic program to new heights.
Made the switch into the ACC
Given the Orange a more dominant presence across NY.
Athletics have seen record success since he has been there.
Brought revenues to record heights.
