Nickleback Rockstar girls drugs alcohol musical instruments

In the videos we see a stereotypical build up of a rock music video. There are arguably a vast amount of “attractive” girls half naked, drugs such as marijuana and of course expensive and aesthetically appealing musical instruments which demonstrate the dream of becoming a rock star and the rewards the come along with it.

Rihanna is arguably the worlds leading female musician. She is a international celebrity. So in her video there are close ups to her face indicating how her potential audience and also long time loyal fans show be aesthetically. This could be a technique used by her record company to potentially sell their products i.e mascara etc.

Here the females strippers are portrayed in the videos as entertainment by the men hence why the rappers state bands will make her dance indicating that money will motivate the female to perform sexual acts towards the men. This is especially common in this particular genre.

6ix_Don't Waste My Time Verse

Here Wealdstone based rapper 6ix has been very clever in using a line from a much more established Canadian rapper Drake embedded into his verse. It highlights a low-key feud between the two. The intertextual reference here is positioned beautifully within 6ix’s verse making it so successful as it does not break the flow of the song, but in fact further emphasises the line, when the beat mutes for 4 seconds.
