OCsC CusTOMer APPreCIATIOn DAyGee, nine years already? Seems like it was only yesterday when a collection of contractors, future customers and new employees pounded all those dents into the copper bartop at the orange county Social club.

each year, the club hosts a customer appreciation day featuring free food and live music in the gravel lot behind 108 e. Main St., and if you’re one of the 6,000 or so members (or one of their guests) you can celebrate year nine with food from the Pig (the Weaver Dairy road successor to the barbecue Joint) and music from carrboro’s own odessa records. there’s also a raffle to benefit odessa’s efforts to put out music by local bands.

odessa’s Paul Finn says he looking forward to a swell afternoon with a lineup from the label’s roster, featuring Wesley Wolfe, Impossible Arms, Wild Wild Geese and Sh*t Horse.

“ocSc has long been an unofficial HQ for the label and many of its artists. over the years, many bands and their ideas were formulated at the bar,” Finn says.

the show starts at 3 p.m. Feel free to drop by and formulate some ideas of your own.
