Museum of Modern Art 11 West 53d Street. The Museum of ^odern Art announced today that its next exhibition "The Art of the Common Man in America" will open to the public on Wednesday, November 30. There will be a preview for members of the Museum on Tuesday, November 29. Mr. A. Conner Goodyear, President of the Museum of Modern Art said today: "The Exhibition includes both painting and sculpture and is the first complete ex- hibition covering the entire field of the art of the common man in America from about 1750 to the close of the 19th century." The Exhibition of American Painting and Sculpture, 1862 - 1932 will remain on view until January 31, 1933, and will be open continually to the public, including November 29th and 30th. The Exhibition of Persian Frescoes will be on view until November 26. The Exhibition of "The Art of the Common Man in America" will include 175 items under the following classifications. (The name of the artist is in most cases unknown.) 1. Oil paintings, including portraits, landscape and genre, and historical, religious and allegorical paintings. 3. Pastels, portraits and landscapes 3. Watercolors including a group of Pennsylvania fracteur, a survival of the art of manuscript illumination up to the time of the Civil War.
