AN IMPORTANT CHALLENGE WAS TO CONTROL DEFORMATIONS CAUSED BY THE DEEPEXCAVATIONS TO AVOID DAMAGE OF IMPORTANT, SETTLEMENT-SENSITIVE, ADJACENT BUILDINGS.
THE DESIGN TEAM DESIGNED THE SHORING SYSTEM CONSISTING OF STIFF SLURRY WALLS,PENETRATING DEEP BELOW EXCAVATION, AND CLOSELY SPACED BRACING.
