Canteen News

The canteen is really rocking along. The BWT Club is taking off (we

even had pancakes serviced on Tuesday!) A huge thank you to Royc-

es, Tivoli, Woolworths, Coles & Aldi who have all supported the

canteen generally ,the BWT Club in particular.

Year 6 canteen monitors are working really hard at recess and

lunchtime. Some of the skills & procedures they are mastering in-

clude: Food Safety, OH&S, teamwork and problem solving. Well

done you are all Canteen Champions!

Trish

Gillham, Jacob Haeata, Kara

Hinderager, Bobby Jeffries,

Charlie Jeffries and Zac Olbourne.

Congratulations to these students and good luck.

Clear Up School’s Day

Our clean up day was due to be

held last Friday, 28th February but

unfortunately, due to the poor

weather, we were unable to do

this. We held it on Monday this

week and cleaned up our

playground ready for our photos.

One thing that was noted was the

number of uneaten sandwiches

left behind by children. For some

reason, whether it be the children

weren’t hungry, they didn’t like

the filling or they were just too

excited to eat, a lot of food is

being wasted. Please ask your

child what they would like on

their sandwich to try and

minimise this waste.

Family Information

With this newsletter, please find

enc losed a b lank fam i l y

information form. We would like

you to fill this form out and

return to the school office. This

information is needed to update

our records and it is especially

important at the moment as our

funding is being determined on

this information. To help us

maximise this funding, we need

accurate information, particularly

in the area of parental education

and occupation.

Festival of International

Understanding

T h i s y e a r ’ s F e s t i v a l o f

International Understanding will

take place in the week of the 10th

March to the 15th March. Once

again, our school will have a

presence at the Festival with

window displays in shops and

along Kendal Street. Thank you

to Collins Shoe Store and

Dynamic Travel Group for

allowing us to put up our display

in their windows. We will also be

part of the Festival Parade in a

combined float with Cowra High

and Cowra Public School. As this

year’s ‘country’ is The United

Nations, it seems like an ideal

time to unite our schools in this

parade. A note was sent home

last week and we hope that many

of our students are able to join

us.

Tennis

Good luck to our tennis team

who will take on Parkes East in

the first round of the PSSA

Knockout tomorrow here in

Cowra. I know that the team:

Ethan Funnell, Eden Hoy, Ellie

Hampton & Ava Spratt will be

great ambassadors for our school.

Voluntary ContributionsEach

year the school asks families to

pay a small contribution towards

the cost of their child’s education.

At our school, this has been set at

$46 per child or $50 per family.

This contribution helps to cover

the cost of books, paper and

other stationery items used by

each student in class. The fees

can also be paid on a term basis if

this is more convenient. A

reminder would then be sent

home at the start of each term.

School Staff Car Parks

There is some concern about the

number of parents/carers using

the car parks and access road to

pick up & drop students off. This

is a real safety issue for us and

our students. The two car

parks are for staff parking

only & deliveries for our

school.

Please do not use these areas as

the students, especially the

younger ones do not look for cars

while they cross to get to the

office or playgrounds.

Please park your vehicle in either

Myall Street or Lachlan Street.

Raffle - Anti: Bullying

With this newsletter is a small

booklet of raffle tickets which we

have been asked to sell on behalf

of the organisation that is bringing

‘Angels Goal’ to Cowra. This

group delivers a an anti bullying

message to school students.

There are great prizes on offer.

Book club Bookclub orders are due back at school by 1Friday,4th March.

Page 3: Mulyan Public School Newsletter trm1 wk6

Please return all raffle tickets (sold or unsold) with

money to school by Friday, 14th May. All funds

raised from the raffle and the charity dinner will be

used to bring ‘Angels Goal’ to Cowra to work with
