To multiply fractions, multiply the numerators and multiply the denominators (tops times tops, bottoms times bottoms).

Remember the rules for multiplying positive and negative numbers! These rules still apply to fractions!
A positive times a positive is a positive.A negative times a negative equals a positive.
A negative times a positive or a positive times a negative equals a negative.
Same signs equals positive; different signs equals negative!
