CLINICAL EXAM Trotting LF 1/5 lame in hand. LF medial splint exostoses sore and warm on palpation. RADIOGRAPHIC FINDINGS There is an area of lysis mid diaphysis LF McIV within a moderate sized bony callus. The callus margin has an irregular contour. TREATMENT / PLAN Muleta has a moderate sized LF medial ‘splint’ with a secondary fracture (most likely from trauma). This injury is actively healing and therefore the horse requires a period of rest (2 weeks) prior to resuming training (walking machine 2 weeks). Shockwave weekly may be useful to hasten the healing process. Please contact CEVS ([email protected]) if you have any queries, Sincerely,
