MULBERRY STREET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH April 29, 2018 www.mulberrymethodist.org “United Methodist Women, turning faith, hope, and love into action for women, children, and youth for 150 years.” Khia Shaw ----------------------------------------------- This Sunday is Mulberry United Methodist Women Sunday. We are pleased to have our own Pamela Johnston as our preacher for each of the services. She has been a part of our Mulberry children’s life for 10 years. Pam exemplifies a beautiful Christian woman, with her love and caring and her strong leadership. We will miss her and we wish her well in her studies at Candler School of Theology. The UMW at Mulberry is made up of three Circles. Our goal is to continue to support mission projects, local and international. Each member pledges a contribution every year. These pledges are then combined with the money we make from fundraisers - like the recent Christmas Bell Bakery Sale. Thanks to the congregation’s help, the UMW sent $1,000 to Hurricane Relief in Puerto Rica, $1,000 to Outreach and smaller gifts to Macon Rebuilding, Methodist Home for Children, Wesley Glen, Magnolia Manor, and Daybreak. Circles also support local organizations with supplies and funds over the year. We have good teachers and books and invite you to join us September thru May. Every year, the UMW gives the Quiet Disciple Award to someone, or ones, nominated by the congregation. This year’s presentation will be before the 11:00 Service begins. PAST RECIPIENTS OF UMW QUIET DISCIPLE AWARDS include: Russ and Carolyn Barber Curtis Barnes James Berg Harold and Freeda Chapman Janet Collins Dole Donovan Harold Downs Guy Harrington Jack Head Sam and Barbara Henley Hank and Lori Martin Charles McCrary Paula Motes Ed and Melinda Powell Paul Riley Betty Sweet Simmons Nick Smith Leolene Tate Lee Triesenberg We invite all women at Mulberry to be a part of UMW’s small groups - the Circles. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 Help Send East Macon Kids
to Camp Grace The mission of Camp Grace is to transform the lives of urban underserved children and youth through grace with overnight camps. We have found that getting our kids out of the city environment for extended overnight stays and showing them unconditional love and speaking into their lives is transforming our urban kids. We know from experience that what we are doing is starting to break the cycle of poverty, crime, teen pregnancy and the high school dropout rate.
You need a ticket for this event. There is no charge for the tickets but donations are appreciated. Pick up your ticket at Wednesday Night Supper or see Jeff Cook.
Join us for a fun trip to The Whistle Stop Café in Juliette for our April VIBRANT
