When Did World War 1 Begin?

World War One began on July 28, 1914.

It was a very big war that lasted for many years.

What Happened to Austria- Hungary in WW1?

The Royal Prince of Austria-Hungary, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and his wife, Sophia, were assassinated by a gunman.

The gunman's name was, Gavrilo Princip.

What did the U.S. want from WW1?

The U.S. wanted to stay neutral and not join the war, but the U.S. eventually did join the war, and joined its allies.

What Vehicles and Weapons were used in WW1 and Which Country used Which?

^Rifles, Machine Guns, Gases, Zeppelins, Tanks, Planes, Cannons, and Torpedoes were used in World War One.

The British used the Rifle the most. ^The German army were the first to use Chlorine gas at the (Zarak) Battle of Ypres in 1915.^ Mustard gas were the deadliest weapon

used in WW1.^The Germans were also the first

Tanks were used at the Battle of The Somme for the first time. It could only go 3mph and could not cross trenches.

Germans used torpedoes to stop supplies from America to Britain.

What were some of the Conflicts of the War?

Some of the conflicts of the war, were when Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. Later after that conflict, more countries joined the war and joined its side in the war.

Germany Attacked Lusitania killing over 1,000 people. The U.S. were outraged that Germany destroyed an unarmored country. Germany stopped submarine warfare, so the U.S. doesn’t join the war.

What Countries Fought Against Each Other?

The countries that fought against each other were divided in Central Powers and Allied Powers. The Allied Powers were France, Britain, U.S., Russia, and in 1915 Italy.

The Central Powers were Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and Ottoman Empire.( Citizen Soldier)

How Many People Were Killed in the War?

The final battle of World War 1 was The Battle of Vittorio Veneto. It was the last major battle of WW1.

What was the Treaty of Versailles?

The Treat of Versailles was one of the peace treaties that ended WW1. It officially ended WW1 on June 28, 1919, exactly 5 years after the death of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. It was a very important Treaty. (Cliffnotes)
