What’s All The Buzz About?

Mt. Carmel

Mt. Carmel Community is certainly “the bee’s knees” when it comes to senior living! Our Hot Springs Village campus provides a continuation of care that meets the needs of those interested in independent living, assisted living, and even memory care. The Village is still buzzing about the recent grand opening of our second Garden Home Neighborhood and Clubhouse. There is a buzz of excitement in the air as new residents move into these bee-utiful new homes and the clubhouse provides the perfect place for our Garden Home residents to socialize and get to know each other. Our main facility is always a beehive of activity. Each day brings something new to look forward to, whether we are celebrating a holiday, bee-ing entertained by special guests, or simply playing bee-ingo! Best of all, the arrival of spring has allowed us to come out of hive-rnation and enjoy nature’s bee-uty in our courtyard! Have you noticed all of the bee references? Special May Events

Mothers have a special place in our hearts at Mt. Carmel Community! We have many extraordinary women who live and work here. We want to honor these ladies at our annual Mother’s Day Tea on Tuesday, May 3rd. Jerry Standridge will be serenading us with love songs.

• Veteran’s Coffee & Donut Circle Mt. Carmel Community is honored to be the home of many veterans who have proudly served our country. We salute you and owe you a debt of gratitude. We want to encourage all of our veterans to be a part of our Veteran’s Coffee & Donut Circle. This month we will meet on May 16. With Memorial Day just a few weeks away, we invite you to bring photos, memorabilia, or stories that you would like to share about your loved ones! • Braille Bible Field Trip Mt. Carmel Community is actively involved in a Helping Hands Mission Project that provides Braille Bibles to the visually impaired who would like to have a copy of the Scriptures. On May 12, we will be going to Christ Lutheran Church to see the complete process of the making of these special Bibles. It will be exciting to watch what the other volunteers do with the numbered pages we complete! We will go out to lunch before returning.

Most folks know enough Spanish to understand that “Cinco de Mayo” is May 5th. In Mexico, an important battle against the French was won on May 5, 1862. They celebrate that victory with parties, parades, festivals, and lots of food! At Mt. Carmel Community at The Village, we plan to celebrate with special entertainment! On Cinco de Mayo, we will have Pamela’s husband, Adolfo, as our special guest. He will be singing a variety of Spanish songs at lunch.
