Students work in groups on projects, but finding available space that meets their needs can be difficult…
• Students can look up and reserve meeting space based on equipment, size, nearest location and availability
• Rooms are scheduled to occupied at the appropriate start time based on anticipated attendees and equipment needed
• Students are directed to desired room (e.x. rooms that are closest to occupied setpoints) to prevent unnecessary cycling of occupied and unoccupied conditions
• Rooms are released to unoccupied/available when no presence is detected within 15 minutes (adj.) of meeting start time
• Buildings or building floors can be set to unoccupied based on rooms scheduled
• Maintenance staff can add filters when necessary to drive usage to certain rooms when necessary.
• Room usage is tracked for automatic work order generation and future space planning.

Students and staff will be able to utilize their phone or PC to schedule available spaces for meetings and send meeting location to group.
The application will populate a list of spaces (giving preference to spaces recently occupied). The user can also search by occupant count or location and reserve the space. Facilities can specify which spaces are available based on time of day or maintenance schedules.
If necessary the access badge of the occupants will be granted temporary access to the building or space.
Upon meeting start time, the relevant systems will go to occupied mode. Occupancy sensors will release space if no one attends within 15 minutes of scheduled time.
A campus-wide view of connected systems from a single user interface enhances the ability to monitor and manage preventative and reactive systems maintenance.
When an alert is triggered or condition is met (e.g. run-hours), the maintenance notification system automatically schedules a maintenance task, alerting the facility staff via a dedicated e-mail address.
If a space is deemed unable to be used it will be removed from the intelligent space scheduling application.

Occupancy within a space will be detected via occupancy sensors, access control, or location services.
In addition to occupancy sensors putting lighting, HVAC, and AV into unoccupied mode certain IT systems (WAP, Monitors, Printers). Can be put in standby mode as well reducing residual plug load.
If occupancy is detected the IT systems can be re-enabled alongside the building systems. Energy Savings

• LED Lighting in classrooms and offices change color visually signifying emergency.
• Fire Alarm system can announce emergency instructions.
• Text messages are sent based on location providing instructions for those in the building and to evacuate the area to those near the building.
• The digital signage within the space and surrounding buildings will display details related to the event.
• Emergency responders are given control of core building systems and a rough count of number of people and locations in the building.
