MSSA "Mansoura Students’ Scientific Association" is

Non Profitable, Non-Religious, Non Political Organization,

working by students for students...Serving the Community

and raising the principles of real Egyptian society.

MSSA is a full member of IFMSA "International Federation

of Medical Students' Association", through IFMSA – Egypt.

MSSA was established in 1974 by Dr.Youssif Rezk, we were

called "EL -Mansoura Students Scientific Society" (MSSS),

but then restructured in 1999 and named (MSSA). ...

Since then we have been hosting international medical

students in our exchange program which gave us great

experience. Based on such experience we would like to

welcome you to our summer school for 2012.

With great pleasure we would like

to welcome you in Egypt, The

cradle of civilization and the home

of history. Egypt is considered the

world's oldest civilization having

emerged from the Nile Valley

around 3,000 years ago and also is

considered one of the oldest

vacation spots. Early Greeks,

Romans and others went there

just for fun, and to see the

wonders of some of mankind's

earliest triumphs. But Egypt is

much more than Pyramids and

monuments. It's a cultural

experience like none you have

ever experienced. Egypt is a land

bustling with life, sound, visual

beauty and excitement.

Mansoura is considered to be Egypt's "third largest city" after Cairo, and Alexandria. Mansoura is a beautiful city in Dakahlia governorate (one of the 26 governorates of Egypt). It is located at the east of Damietta branch of the Nile River.

It is a relatively new city, built in 1280 after the Muslims defeated the Crusaders on its land during the Seventh Crusade (therefore leading to the name Mansoura-"Victorious").

Mansoura lies 60Km away from the Mediterranean Sea and also 120km away from Cairo, connected by a sophisticated transport system especially, trains & buses...

So, it is easily can be reached from Cairo Airport by: taking a bus (from the bus station beside the airport) to Ramses Square, then to Al Qolaly East Delta bus station having a bus to Mansoura.

The school of medicine was originally founded in 1962 as a branch of Cairo University, but then by 1973 it was pertained to Mansoura University and named as Mansoura Faculty of Medicine...

Mansoura is regarded as the center of medicine in Egypt for its numerous well-prepared medical centers, as:

1-Mansoura Urology & Nephrology Center (M.U.N.C)

2-Mansoura University Children Hospital (M.U.C.H)

3-Mansoura Specialized Medical Hospital (M.S.M.H)

4-Emergency Hospital

5-Oncology Center-Mansoura University (O.C.M.U)

6-Ophthalmic Center

7-Gastroenterology (GIT) Surgery Hospital

8-Mansoura General University Hospital; which is one of the most important hospitals in the Egyptian medical educational field.

The average number of patients for the previous hospitals and

centers is about 500-600 patient per day.

We have 3 different scientific programs in the

following centers:

1-Mansoura Urology & Nephrology Center:

Mansoura Urology & Nephrology Center was officially inaugurated in

May 1983, since then, the activities of the center have been growing,

both clinical and academic. The establishment of the center was an

exemplary work of Dr. M. A Ghoneim and two of his fellow urologists:

Dr. A.Ashamallah and Dr. S. Hammady.

2- Mansoura Oncology Center:

Mansoura Oncology Center is one of the most known centers in

Egypt and the whole Middle East. It was officially inaugurated in 2004

and since then it had treated thousands of patients with very high

success rate.

The center is also equipped

with a moving "Female

Care" unit which offers free

breast examinations and

many other medical advices

from highly qualified

doctors to all the women in

Mansoura and nearby cities

and villages.

3- Tropical medicine department:

Tropical medicine is the department of "Specialized Medicine Hospital" of Mansoura University

that deals with health problems that occur uniquely, are more widespread, or prove more difficult to control in tropical and subtropical regions.

The department offers a unique opportunity of seeing and actually treating rare and exotic cases that you have a very little chance of seeing during your career.

clerkship here, we have two hostels for

accommodation, the first is located in

our Olympic village and the other one

is located within the university campus

both hostels composed of double

rooms with private bath, TV, fridge, Air

conditions.

Full boarding is provided here (2 meals

per day) free of charge

We offer a magnificent social program during which we tried to give

you the opportunity to see as much as possible of the Egyptian

culture, history and landscapes.

During training days there will be evenings out in Mansoura to know

the city and in the weekends trips Cairo and Alexandria Egypt's two

largest cities.
