Ms. Karen Strohmeyer [email protected] January 18, 2017 Language Lesson Froggy Gets Dressed by Jonathan London, was read during our language lesson. Froggy wakes from hibernating and sees snow outside. He wants to go outside to play. Throughout the story, he has trouble remembering to put on all of his clothes. His mother calls him back inside the house to finish getting dressed. Poor Froggy grows tired as he dresses then undresses, in order to put on the missing pieces of clothing. Before the story, we talked about the types of clothing you put on to go play outside in the cold weather. We discussed the difference between mittens and gloves, whether our coats buttoned or zipped, and listed many kinds of clothes. We also talked about hibernating and what that means. At home: Talk with your child about the different clothes found in the house (ie. large/small, winter/summer, playtime/bedtime). Can your child describe the clothes? Play “I spy” with the clothes in the laundry basket. One person describes the item, the other person tries to guess (ex. “I spy something you wear on your feet?”). Take turn asking the questions.
