Project: Photosynthesis & Cellular Respiration Poster

Purpose: Construct a model that will demonstrate information about the connections between photosynthesis and cellular respiration.

- When illustrating Photosynthesis: Draw a picture of a plant. Label the picture to identify the different parts of the plant involved in the process of Photosynthesis. Be sure to include the energy transformations that take place during this process. You MUST include ALL items in the rubric presented.

- When illustrating Cellular Respiration: Draw a picture of a human or animal. Label the picture to identify the different parts of Cellular Respiration. Be sure to include the energy transformations that take place during this process. You MUST include ALL items in the rubric presented.

Essential Additions:- Chemical equations for photosynthesis and cellular respiration on your

poster.- Name of plant and animal/human you are depicting in your model.

Terms to Include in the Poster:

PART 1: SUMMARY FOR EACH PROCESS

Directions for Photosynthesis:

Explain Photosynthesis in at least three steps (you may include more). You must use the following vocabulary words in your written explanations and underline them: chloroplasts, chlorophyll, oxygen, carbon dioxide, raw material (or reactant), products, glucose).

Directions for Cellular Respiration:Explain respiration in at least three steps (you may include more). You must use the following vocabulary words in your written explanations and underline them: oxygen, carbon dioxide, raw material (or reactant), products, glucose, fermentation, aerobic, anaerobic, lactic acid. Make sure to explain both types of cellular respiration!

PART 2: CONSTRUCT YOUR POSTER!

Follow the guidelines and designate half of the poster for each process. Use the “check off”column to make sure EVERYTHING is on theposter. Your poster should be more detailed than this example.

*** Copying a poster from another student or off the internet is cheating and will result in a 0!NO EXCEPTIONS!***

The rubrics will be attached to your poster Poster Project is due: __________________once you turn it in.
