Literacy Activity Choose your favourite book and read it aloud. Take a video of you reading the book and summarize it in your own words. Read the book to someone in your house as well. They will need to complete the visualizing section with you. Think about these questions: What was the book about? Who was in the story? What was the problem? How did the character(s) overcome obstacles? What happened in the beginning, middle and end? Can you make any connections to yourself that relate to something that happened in the story? Is there a part that reminds you of something else you have read? Can you connect the story to something going on in the world? After you have made your video. I want you to choose a part that stood out to you in the story and draw a picture of what you visualized in that scene. Talk about what you visualized with a parent, sibling, grandparent, etc. Ask them to share what they visualized. After both of you have drawn what you visualized record another video. Your job is to share what both you and the person who did this activity with you visualized as you were reading the story.
