The Use of Multiple Intelligences Theory To Teach Reading and Writing Autistic Somali Students
Statement of the Problem & Proposal
Assumptions of the Study
Statement of the Thesis
Background & Urgency of the Problem
• Autism students are suffering from loneliness • Autism students did not get full rights from the
government • Autism students can learn different ways from others
In three weeks, I will create A3 poster information with Five pictures in Somali and English that shows 3 ways of teaching autistic students 2 hours a day (Abbott, 2013) for Somali government to help students who have autism problem (McKenzie, 1993) therefore, Autistic students will have an ability to engage with environment which is surrounding to them, and to overcome this problem along within four weeks (Gorman,2008).
• Each picture display on poster can help students to improve their ability of thinking .
• Walter McKenzie theory of Multiple intelligence(Walter McKenzie, 1993) can help students.
Somali students who have problem with autism, slow learner, and dependent learner problem can use 2 hours a day in Somali and English poster that shows 5 pictures with 3 ways of teaching these students to engage with environment which is surrounding to them, these 3 ways are Use Task Analysis, keep your language simple, Avoid using sarcasm for about four weeks.

Theoretical Background
Theoretical Application
Proposed Poster Design
“Multiple Intelligences Theory posits that there are seven ways people understand in the world and they are Linguistic, Logical-Mathematical, Visual-Spatial, Body-Kinesthetic, Musical-Rhythmic, Interpersonal, Intrapersonal” (McKenzie, 1993).
• In week 1, the creating of a poster stages, words and pictures of a poster must be presented near each other for the students to learn and follow instructions
• Simple instruction can activate students to provide the posters in Week 3 and to start the program in Week 4
• Making simple questions which examine the students whether they understand steps or not

Week 1 - Design a poster Week 2 - Give the poster to facilitators to revise the whole posterWeek 3 – Beginning the Program(All participants will acquire to read instructions which are on the tentative letter )Week 4 – Examine students to estimate their strength of learning
Careless: Somali government ignored autistic students in terms of education, it seems to them simple thing but its disadvantage is bigger then its appearance.
Solution: Asking NHOs to help Autistic students by using two factors of multiple intelligence theory which are logic smart and intrapersonal, those two factors help us to come up with this idea.

Research Questions
• Can Autistic students from different backgrounds understand examples shown in pictures with Somali and English text?• Can posters guide students in maintaining specific
standards of thinking? • Can a poster display in each picture a type of autism?

Summary / Abstract
This research proposal is planned to inform the autism issue among
Somali students. This thought is to suggest some potential solutions to reduce
autism among Somali students. I used a poster to expose my ideas which is on
A3-sized poster. This research proposal will have functioned for four weeks.
Students will have concerned to take a part in the programme and they are
required to answer a question at the end of each session to estimate their ability
of learning, and they will receive some consultation from facilitators to guide the
students on the time line for learning which are on a poster to help them along
the way. The expected consequence of this proposal is that participants are able
to learn some ways of teaching autism students for four weeks. The outcomes
may be practicable for other people who have countered like this problem.
