night. This includes 20 minutes of reading. I will endeavor to keep homework in this time frame. If it is taking your child longer we can work together to find a solution.

Planner Planner will be used to record homework

assignments and projects. I require that students show parents their planners every night and get a signature.

The reason behind this is to maintain communication between us and keep parents aware of what we are doing.

Book Log/Calendar Nightly record for assigned 20 minutes of Reading. I

ask that this is initialed by parents and it is worth a homework point towards the reading grade. Log must be initialized to receive the points. (1 point for every 20 minutes assigned.

Weekends are worth 3 points.)

Students may read anything; a book, magazine article, newspaper, comic book, etc…

I will check this every day along with the Planner—my hope is that the students will fill out the logs independently, asking for parents to initial.

Tardiness School starts at 8:35 A.M. I take attendance at 8:50 A.M., per

office request. However anyone coming in the room after 8:50 is considered tardy. Due to the amount of work we need to accomplish in the third grade, every moment is precious.
