  • City of Marquette Specification Revisions for 2015

    Chapter Five 5.12 Resident Notification Added: For those cases where the property being affected has multiple housing units, such as apartment complexes or multi-family rentals, the owner of the property being affected will be notified per the same requirements as the residential notice. Chapter Six 6.15 Resident Notification Added: For those cases where the property being affected has multiple housing units, such as apartment complexes or multi-family rentals, the owner of the property being affected will be notified per the same requirements as the residential notice. Pre-Approved Materials List Concrete Items: Added two additional curing compound manufacturers. Added Sealers, Penetrating Item and associated manufacturers. General Construction Plan Note for Construction/Detour Signing For those situations where construction/detour signing is required for the project and the signing will obstruct the sidewalk area, the signing will either, (a) be placed on a post between the sidewalk and curb per MUTCD requirements or, (b) if available, be placed in the parking lane per MUTCD requirements.

  • INFORMATION FOR BIDDERS CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: One CD copy (PDF format) of the Project Bid Documents including Specifications upon payment of $25 nonrefundable. Checks shall be made out to the City of Marquette. No Partial sets will be issued.

    Project Bid Documents must be purchased by the prime contractors from the City of Marquette in order for bids to be accepted. Purchasing of Project Bid Documents provides a record of the contractors who may be potential bidders and provides a contractor contact in the event addendums must be incorporated into the Project Bid Documents. The purchasing of the Project Bid documents allows the contractor the opportunity to receive any addendums required for the project and will minimize the possibility of a bid being rejected due to not receiving the addendum(s). Bids must be in sealed envelope clearly identifying the bid number and title. No fax or electronic bids will be accepted. All bids must include the proposal cover sheet of Chapter 2 to be accepted. All bids must include acknowledgement of all addendums on the aforementioned cover sheet. Failure to do so will result in the rejection of the bid proposal. The

  • bonds shall remain in effect for a period of 1 year beyond the contractors, subcontractors or suppliers last work on the project. CLARIFICATIONS: Questions regarding ambiguities or the propriety of these specifications shall be addressed, in writing, to the City Engineer, not less than ten (10) days prior to formal bid opening. Such questions will not be entertained after said date. CONTRACT DURATION: The Contractor shall commence work on the project within ten days of receipt of the notice to proceed. The contract completion date for this project will be September 26, 2015. The Contractor shall follow the construction phasing as set forth in the bid documents. CONTRACT ACCEPTANCE: It is anticipated the contractor will be selected by the Marquette City Commission on July 13, 2015. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: Should the contractor fail to complete the work specified under this contract by September 26, 2015, liquidated damages will be assessed at the rate shown in the following table.     PRECONSTRUCTION MEETING: Before any work is commenced under this contract, a preconstruction meeting between representatives of the Contractor, the City Engineering Department, and utility companies shall be held at the Municipal Service Center. The preconstruction meeting for this project will be held no later than 10 days after contract acceptance by the Marquette City Commission.

  • PREVAILING WAGES: Effective 28 February 2011, the City of Marquette adopted a Prevailing Wage resolution requiring that all mechanics and/or laborers employed on City construction projects costing in excess of $65,000 be paid minimum wages as determined by the Secretary of Labor. These prevailing wage requirements will apply to this project if the contractors total bid price is in excess of $65,000.
