If you want to use H!I or /#IF and ad*ust the framerate of the video to the T" freuency, you must reencode the

AVISYNTH
Warnin* and e-planations
=his &art is o&tional and is a little bit s&ecial'1se %visynth only if you really want to. The uality is already very
good without it &ut we can go further with %visynth.
%viynth is a frameserverthat allows you to apply advanced filters on the video. 3ou should know that most of these
filters are uite heavy and avisynth is mostly used in encoding where there is no real constraint a&out framerate. For
example, if you encode at : frames per second it's not a pro&lem, it will *ust takes some time. %s we will use it for
video play&ack we have the constrain of real time )eg. 5.678 or more frames per seconed+ and therefore you should
have enough power. %visynth can also &e unsta&le and it can sometimes crash !#(H( when you launch a video.
4ow that you are warned we will see how to use avisynth. @e will use it to do the scaling and sharpening instead of
ffdshow. Indeed %visynth gives the &est result &ecause it can do things impossi&le with ffdshow like video upscaling
K? sharpening K? video downscaling. o, like I said previously in the tutorial, if you use %visynth disa&le )uncheck+

Fineharp is specialised in H and must &e used only for H. 3ou have to choose depending on the power you have.

=his &art is o&tional. If you use the automatic freuency changing of mad"- or !#(H(, %utoFreuency loses its
usefulness &ut it has some nice features as you'll see that can make you prefer %utoFreuency for freuency automatic
changing. @hether you use -eclock or not %utoFreuency can &e really useful.
The draw&ack when you don't use -eclock is that it is necessary that the freuency of your T" &e the same )or
multiple+ of the video. This reuires knowing in advance the freuency of the video and to make the necessary
ad*ustments to the HT#( and the T". %nd if you use -eclock you must set your T" to 5Gh;, for exemple, &efore
playing a video.
5ut now than"s to AutoFre#uenc$ this is no longer necessar$'
Indeed %utoFreuency allows you at the opening of a video to automatically change the freuency of your screendepending on the video, to launch !#(H( and play the video. @hen you close the player %utoFreuency switch
