www.moviepreviewguide.com When You’re Strange 2 July www.whenyourestrangemovie.com Nearly two decades ater Oliver Stone dramatised the lie o Jim Morrison in The Doors, Tom DiCillo’s documentary  When You’re Strange revisits the Caliornia based band and tells their story through never beore seen archive ootage. This stretches back to their ormation at UCLA’s lm school in 1965 through to Morrison’s death six years later, and promises to be a wild, unorgettabl e ride. The per ect companion piece to Stone’s earlier work. Predators 8 July www.predatorsthemovie.co.uk The thrilling new chapter in the Predator universe.  Adrien Brody stars as a cold-blooded mercenary leading a group o elite warriors who come to realise that they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the notable exception o a disgraced physician (Topher Grace), they are all hardened killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human ‘predators’ who are now being systematically hunted and eliminated by a new breed o alien Predators. Leaving 9 July www.metrodomegroup.com English actress Kristin Scott Thomas has lived most o her adult lie in her adopted France, and requently delivers ne perormances in French movies. Leaving is a good example, casting her as a middle aged wie and mother o two who resumes her career and soon nds hersel attracte d to a rough hewn odd job man (Sergi Lopez). Torn between duty and passion, the result is another riveting perormance rom the actress. Milenge Milenge 9 July www.erosentertainment.com  A change o tone is oered by Milenge Milenge, a Hindi lm that oers a rich combination o sweet romance and broad comedy, as it brings together Amit (Shahid Kapoor) and Priya (Kareena Kapoor). Their attraction is instant and deep. They part abruptly, and their lives move on – but can ate contrive to reunite two lovers who are meant to be together? Heartbreaker 2 July www.heartbreakermovie.com Love, someone once said (in a movie, o course) means never having to say you’re sorry. There’s little remorse evident in Alex (Romain Duris), whose job requires him to break up relationships to order in the French lm Heartbreaker . It’s a logical extension o the service industry and anyway, his particular talents or making women all or him save them rom an unhappy union. That is until he is assigned to a relationship that is genuinely good and (worse) he nds himsel alling or his intended target (Vanessa Paradis). Skeletons 2 July www.skeletonsthemovie.com Dark secrets are exposed in Skeletons , as a pair o reelance operatives delve into the lives o clients to exorcise deceit and mendacity, to metaphorically clean the skeletons out o their closet. As they do so – instructed by their boss, The Colonel (Jason Isaacs) – they nd themselves on a case that bafes even them, and begins to work its way into their own innermost thoughts and secrets. An obeat comedy debut rom director Nick Whiteld, the lm stars Ed Gaughan and Andrew Buckley. White Material 2 July www.articial-eye.com Set in an unnamed Arican country beset by civil war,  White Material ollows the eorts o an expatriate French amily struggling to keep their coee plantation going as more violence and uncertainty brews. Isabelle Huppert heads the cast o a lm by French auteur Claire Denis, whose previous work includes the acclaimed Beau Travail and who spent her ormative years living in Arica. Shrek Forever Ater 3D See it from 2 July www.shrekoreverater.co.uk Cinema’s most lovable ogre enters a nightmarish alternative reality in Shrek Forever After, ater he is duped by the notoriously dodgy Rumpelstiltskin. Suddenly Shrek’s world is turned upside down – Donkey doesn’t know him, Puss in Boots is a little on the cuddly side and (worse still) he has never met his beloved Fiona. Presented in glorious 3D, and reuniting stars Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Antonio Banderas, this lm more than lives up to its illustrious predecessors. “I liken the experience o watching a Shrek movie as like going to a antastic party,” executive producer Aron Warner notes. “Everywhere you turn there’s someone cool to talk to, something interesting to do and there’s something odd going on in the next room. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse 9 July www.eclipse-themovie.co.uk The Twilight Saga: Eclipse needs little introduction, as audiences who ell or Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black in the rst two movies – or indeed in the original books – will have eagerly awaited this instalment. It sees Bella (Kristin Stewart) orced to make a choice between the two loves o her li e (played by Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner), in the knowledge that her decision risks sparking an all out war between vampire and werewol on Earth. For Stewart this lm gave her a rare chance to get to know the stories’ author, Stephenie Meyer. “She’d paid us visits in the past, but we didn’t have any deep discussions about the character. But on this she was on set watching a lot o scenes and I really loved going and asking her about details, i there was anything I wasn’t doing that she imagined I should, or i there was a little tic that was happening that bothered her. I was really into that.” Picture: Elektra Records Movie Guide
