Mount Kenya University Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) programme was granted provisional accreditation by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board in May, 2014.

The University has adequate infrastructure which includes state-of-the-art Science Laboratories, a modern Anatomy Laboratory/Funeral Home at Thika Level 5 Hospital. In addition it is in collaboration with Machakos Level 5 Hospital and other strategic partners.

Candidates wishing to study for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree shall have met either of the following minimum University entry requirements.

e. For holders of any degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent qualifications from a recognized university subject to passing Graduate Record Examination (GRE)f. Duly filled application forms shouldbe addressed to the Registrar -Academic Affairs. Application should be accompanied by copies of relevant academic and professional certificates, and one passport size photo and a copy of National ID or a birth certificate.

Application fee is as follows: Ksh.1,000 (Certificates, Diplomas &Undergraduates programmes) Ksh.2,000(Post-Graduate programmes) for Kenyan applicants and US Dollars 50 for all non-Kenyan applicants.

Mode of payment: i) Statutory fees of Ksh. 12,000 payable once on registration. ii) The university fees payment can also be done in easy installments within the semester. The installments are as follows: 30% upon registration, 30%- second installment, 20%-third installment 20% - fourth installment.iii) Fees are payable either per semester, trimester or annually in the bank accounts listed below. One academic year is equivalent to Two Semesters or Three Trimesters. Students can complete a Four academic year course in Three Years when undertakingThree semesters in one calender year eg. January-April, May-August, September - December - at the students discretion

Changes in fees is only applicable to new students and does not affect continuing students.
