Observation 1
To turn a thyristor ON, a gate current >Igtmust be applied until the load current isgreater than or equal to load current.
For industrial application this condition mustbe meet at the lowest expected operatingtemperature
Use an resistor o f 1K of lower value between gate and
cathode

Observation 2
To turn off a thyristor the load current must
be

Observation 3
In most of the industrial there is a very high electrical
noise these noises may result in false triggerring of
triacs
Make gate connections as small as possible
The gate sensitivity can be reduced by adding 1 K
ohms between the gate and and MT1.-
use shielded cable
H triac can also be used ( e.g BT 139 -600H)

Observation 4
When the drives are used in industrial
application with highly capacitive loads it
high dv com/dt or dv / dt are likely to causeproblems in these cases it is better to use an
RC snubber across MT1 and MT2 .

Observation 5
A very high di com / dt is observed when the
drive unit is intended to feed a transformer or
an auto-transformer load , starting ofinduction machines .
Use an inductor of few mill henry in series
with the load
Industries may employ HI-COM triacs
