Creating something of VALUE that will make a difference

In 2006, American traveller Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers. They have now delivered over 1 million pairs of shoes to children around the world.

APPLYING your skills and talents to a worthwhile project

New Zealand born and bred, Professor Fred Hollows was a world renowned eye-doctor, humanitarian and social activist. Fred believed that everyone had the right to high quality and affordable eye care no matter who they were or where they lived.

He championed the introduction of modern cataract surgery in developing countries and had the ground breaking idea of setting up intraocular lens factories in Eritrea and Nepal. The latter of these achievements made cataract surgery affordable for millions of people living in the developing world

It has been estimated that through Fred's initiatives, over one million people around the world have had their sight restored.
