APOLOGIES Katie Lindner, Carlos Perkins 3. MINUTES – CONFIRMATION Motion to approve the minutes of 11-8-17 M: Heather Dunn S: Nicole Lewis carried 4. BUSINESS ARISING 4.1 Kim Bambery has transferred to SAPOL Port Wakefield. Action: HD to write to Kim thanking her for her contributions to the Youth Centre. Motion: that the committee nominates Phil Sleep to fill the vacancy on the Youth Action Committee M: Heather Dunn S: Irene Limburg carried 4.2 Committee Communication. An email list has been set up and we have current contacts for all committee members. 4.3 Transition Dinner at High School 20 th November. Discussed PYAC members addressing the dinner. Actions: NL will speak to the principal. MV will develop a presentation. 4.4 RUOK day planned for September was cancelled due to short time frame for organising. 5. ACTIVITY REPORT PYAC has been used in the past 2 months: Successful Transitions Program (weekly Mondays) Driver Training program (F/N Thursdays) Suicide Prevention Network meeting First 5 minutes information SA Ambulance Bootcamp (now finished) High School cabaret Homework Club (weekly Thurs & Friday) FAT night planning meetings

1. ATTENDANCE

6. FINANCE REPORT Bank account set up, spread sheet established to track income and expenditure. A sign is being developed for the can & bottle bin at the free RV park to explain donations go to the PYC. Donations collected via bottles and cans: $80 and $45. More detailed finance report next meeting.

7. GRANTS Grants currently being explored include: Thriving Communities youth entrepreneurs: Nicole to follow up with Thriving Communities Leadership group on exploration of further opportunities in the youth entrepreneurs program space. SA Youth Week: proposal for a Street Play event in April 2018 Youth Week. Application name = Peterborough Street Play, It’s Our Future Done Our Way. Council have agreed to close Don Ferguson Drive for the event on Friday 13 April. We should be able to borrow lots of equipment and games from STARCLUB Field Officer Rhys Millington (confirmed) to go with the gear we have here. Action: MV to write to OPAL (Dana McCormack & Emma Young) to invite them to attend and to contribute ideas for the event. White’s Rural Community Grants: for kids in rural areas, grants up to $10.000. Discussed ideas, including Art Day and Buddy benches. Grants close 30 November.

8. FRIDAY NIGHT ACTVITIES

1st September Pictionary/Charades. 14 attendees 29th September Meme/Sports colours, 19 attendees Planning for 3rd Nov: Selfie challenge, BBQ. Greg Carman to be asked to set up BBQ, MM to plan challenge. Meet 24th Oct to finalise planning. Discussed implementing incentives to bring a gold coin donation to help with running the centre. Lucky door prize will be trialled at next FAT night.

9. ANY OTHER BUSINESS 9.1 Discussed setting out a 12 month plan. Will develop a large format plan for the wall. Events include: Main Street Official opening with PYAC providing some games, Christmas Tree Festival, Christmas pageant, SA Youth Week event Plan for FAT night December to be a craft night to make Christmas Tree and plan for pageant. Plan for Feb 2018 FAT night to be Mocktails. 9.2 Matters for Council: several matters discussed including issues with tourists misreading the sign for public toilets (at Rotary Park) and coming into Youth Centre, replacing hot water service, outside lights, disability access and some maintenance issues. ACTION: committee executive to develop 12 month plan, detailing issues, solutions and goals. Plan to be provided to council at December meeting. 9.3 Equipment Audit: we have Valerie and Irene willing to conduct an equipment audit to assist with asset register and lending/hiring of equipment and games.

9.4 Brainstorm ideas for future events/purchases:
