THE BEGINNING
The construction of the Moscow Metro Station began in
June 1931 by the Central Committee of the Communist
Party of the Soviet Union.
THE POWERFUL
Communist Party of the Soviet Union was in power
during the beginning of the construction of the
Moscow Metro.
LIFE UNDER STALIN
He liked dominating over people.
People though of him as “Uncle Joe” as a father name.
Their education was controlled.
Outside of school, the children were expected to join
youth organizations.1. Octobrists for 8 to 10 year olds 2. the Pioneers for the 10 to 16 year olds3. Komsomol from 19 to 23
QUALITY
Russians had housing problems
Skilled factory workers did very well and had great
health care.
The poorest people would not get health care even
where they were at their worst illness.

The Moscow Metro was one of the USSR’s
finest architectural projects.
It included marble walls, high ceilings and
grandiose chandelier s, and has been know as
the “artificia l undergroun d sun”.
