They are AWESOME!! I want to thank Shuford and Betsy Wilson for the time and effort that went into building, painting and creating the decals. What a great gift of many talents they have to share with the family of God at Morris Chapel. THANK YOU!!!!!! When the MC Kids went to the Ronald McDonald House last year to bring the tabs we had collected I saw they had a collection bin that someone had made them and it was in red. I took a picture and thought and prayed about it and I knew we needed two at Morris Chapel. I spoke with Shuford and explained my thought process behind us having two collection bins on wheels, so everyone including the MC Kids can drop their donations in the bin. Also, this brings more awareness to the church and all who enter our doors that we are collecting the tabs. One of the bins is located outside my office and the other is in the family life center lobby. As of October 2, 2014, Morris Chapel collected 148.85 pounds of pop tabs! 148,850 tabs! We have not tallied up the recent contributions and will make another delivery sometime in the fall. Here are some frequently asked questions about tab collecting... How much money does the Ronald McDonald House get for the pop tabs? RMH gets the market price for aluminum which ranges from $0.35 to $0.75 per pound of tabs. Currently the prices are around $0.50 per pound. Our recycling partner is OmniSource Southeast. Why do you ask for tabs instead of the entire can? The tab’s cost is the same for the recyclers as the can because it is all made of the same type of aluminum. Also, the tabs are clean and easy to store with no mess. Can I donate other types of tabs? They also accept tabs from soup cans, juice cans, dog foods etc. as long as they are aluminum. The MC Kids thank you for continuing to help one of our mission ministries of the children’s department. This is one of the many ways we help grow the family of God! On May 20 th JAM with SAM the MC Kids will bring in the tabs they have collected and then have the opportuni- ty to dunk me into a dunking tank! Yes, you read that right a dunking tank! Last year pie in my face, this year dunking tank, stay tuned for what’s in store for 2016!!!! Thanks as always for your continued prayers and support that you so graciously give to us! Grace, Peace and Love, Sam
