Print & Play: Low-Prep Learning Games
With TWO Levels of Play!
Level 1: Grab two small markers and place one on each bird (at
the Start position). Toss a coin, die or small object onto the game
board. When it lands on a picture, name the picture and identify
the long vowel sound. Move the marker from that side closer to the
tree. The first bird to fly to the tree wins!Level 2: Toss a coin,
die or small object onto game board. When it lands on a picture,
name the picture and identify the long vowel sound. Spell the word
on the correct side. Keep tossing and spelling words in this
manner. The first bird to fly all the way to the tree wins! (Note:
The same word cannot be spelled more than twice.)
Variation: This game can be played with 1 OR 2 players. If there
is only 1 player, that player moves both markers for each crab
towards the beach. If there are 2 players, each player picks a
crab/vowel sound. He moves his marker only if he lands on a square
with a picture that has that vowel sound.
