Close Ups
Close Ups
Using close ups as a shot in a video adds detail to the character. This is mainly used to add focus on this
character and show their facial expressions. I would use this because I like the idea of the detail in one
shot. Close ups fill the frame in a shot in a video, this is so you can’t see anything but what you are focusing on. I’ve seen this used in most music videos. This can be used in any music video because it works with any genre, it can be slow moving, or rushed. Depending
on the tempo of the song. If rushed, however, means that it will be difficult to see because it is zoomed and
moving around. This won’t show detail. Although, it will work to show a hectic scene.
Perfect thirds
Perfect thirds are putting an object in a frame and either having it in the centre of the frame or have it more on the left or more on the right. This gives the frame a different angle. This can be used to
focus on a character or object. It is a good technique because it makes the shot look different so the angles aren’t all the same. This can be used in any music video and is often used in photos, this is because you can blur the background, to bring the object in focus, forward. This also adds depth because the object isn’t filling the frame, you can see the background, so there’s more in the frame
to see.
