MONTHLY PROJECT REPORT JUNE 2017

AFGHANISTAN

This is an ongoing project for widow’s sponsorship. We are currently sponsoring 260 widows in

Afghanistan.

WIDOWS SUPPORT

Books will be distributed among various Islamic ins� tuti ns and individuals across Afghanistan.

PROVISION OF BOOKS

This is our new project for Teachers. We will be supporting 120 teachers in Afghanistan.

TEACHER SPONSORSHIP

Under this project UWT will disburse monthly sponsorship payments to 500 registered Afghanistan

orphans.

ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP

ALBANIA

This is a regular project in Albania in which UWT will be paying a monthly amount to 10 teachers and

4 scholars who will give an Islamic education in Masajid and Makatib in the local community.

TEACHER SPONSORSHIP

This is our new project in Afghanistan. A masjid will be constructed in Village Salehan of district

Panjwai.

MASJID CONSTRUCTION

ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP

This is regular project. Currently we are sponsoring 200 Orphans, which are from and around the ar-ea of Tirana.

110 families will be given cash grants. Both male-headed families and female-headed families will

be provided with cash grants.

BOOKS DISTRIBUTION

This is a new project in Albania. Books are being distributed among various Islamic ins� tu� ons and individuals across Albania.

WATER HAND PUMPS

204 hand pumps have been installed in different areas of districts Panchagarh and Dinajpur and

have been completed successfully alhamdulillah. 250 Water Hand Pumps are under construc� on right now.

BANGLADESH

Under this project, 15 new businesses are being in Bangladesh. The targeted beneficiaries are those

widows, orphan s & poor people who are vulnerable & dependent.

The project has been undertaken to reduce their level of dependency. Rickshaw van, cows & sewing

INCOME GENERATION PROJECT

BURMA

TEACHER SPONSORSHIP

UWT has initiated a scheme to sponsor quali� ed teachers who will be able to set-up classes to teach

children after school and in the evenings. Two hundred teachers receive monthly support, so children

can be taught for free.

118 orphans are currently being sponsored in Bangladesh. Each orphan receives an allowance of

£25 per month for food, clothing and an educa� on.

ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP

ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP

150 orphans are being given monthly support. This helps the orphans with financial support to cov-

er their basic needs, helping them to continue their education.

ORPHANAGE SUPPORT

UWT has initiated a project with 2 Orphanages. Food Assistance and classes have been set up to

feed and teach children.

MAKTAB SUPPORT

There is an immediate need for the running of Masajid and Maka� b in the Si� awe refugee camp to

enable the Muslims and their children to pray fives a day and receive an Islamic education.

CHECHNYA

ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP

100 orphans in and around Grozny are being supported with £25 per month.

SUPPORTING CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Three children with disabiliti s are receiving monthly financial assistance.

NEW LIVELIHOODS

Business start-ups are currently being set-up for 62 widows. Start-ups include cattle breeding, mini

shops, sewing machines etc.

TEACHER SPONSORSHIP

Twenty-fi e teachers are being given monthly support in order to teach the Qur’an for free to children.

GAMBIA

HIFDH SPONSORSHIP

330 Hifdh students are being given monthly support in order to learn the Qur’an.

This is our new project in Gambia. One masjid will be constructed in the village of Kun� ng. The land

has been donated by a local resident.

MOSQUE CONSTRUCTION

HAITI MEDICAL AID

Each month, around 500 pa� ents in Miragoane (and surrounding areas) are given medical treatment and advice.

TEACHER SPONSORSHIP

Dozens of teachers across different madrassahs in India are being sponsored to provide free educati n to children.

HARDSHIP CASES

The aim of this project is to support people who are suffering from acute poverty by providing

fi ancial assistance for their medical treatments, medicine, housing etc. UWT field workers will

oversee the project.

INDIA

530 young students are being given monthly support to complete the memorisati n of the Qur’an.

4 masajid in Rajasthan are currently under construc� on.

MASJID CONSTRUCTION

ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP

The guardians of 42 orphans each receive a monthly allowance of £25 to cover their nutri� onal, health and educati nal needs.

CATARACT SURGERIES

Hospitals are being supported in order for them to provide free Cataract treatments to those who

are unable to afford the treatment.

WATER HAND PUMP

Hundreds of Water Hand Pumps have been constructed recently, at the moment work on 180 hand

pump is in progress.

DIALYSIS TREATMENT

We provided relief with dialysis treatments to poor and needy pa� ents. A total of 10 pa� ents were

helped by the dialysis treatment program.

IRAQ

EMERGENCY RELIEF

The project seeks to distribute food packs to 1000 families in West Mosul IDPs camps in

Nineveh district.

NEW LIVELIHOODS

A vocational training centre is being established in Bahrka camp, Erbil, for internally displaced

widows, divorced women, and the wives of missing men. One hundred women are being trained and provided with sewing machines and other items.

WIDOWS SUPPORT

The programme will support 250 widows from Baghdad and Anbar with cash assistance to support

them with the daily essentials.

WIDOW SUPPORT

One hundred and thirty six widows are receiving monthly support.

MEDICAL AID

A clinic in Kotli is providing free treatment and medicines to poor rural people.

KASHMIR

ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP

Monthly grants of £25 are being provided to 232 orphans in Azad.

MALAWI

MEDICAL CLINCS

The project is an extremely bene� cial project which has helped thousands of people. The people

now have access to health care whereas previously they would have to walk up to 30km to the

nearest medical clinic.

MADAGASCAR

TEACHER SPONSORSHIP

This is a new project in Madagascar in which UWT will be financially supporting 125 teachers who will

teach an Islamic educa� on in Masajid and Makatab in their local communities.

MACEDONIA

TEACHER SPONSORSHIP

This is a new project in Macedonia in which UWT will be paying for monthly wages, rental charges for two classes, electricity and for fuel cost etc . Each teacher will teach an Islamic education in

Masajid and Maktab in the local community. A total of 9 teachers will be enrolled.

4 masajid are under construction in Chiradzulu,Mulanje & Zomba districs of Malawi. People There was no masjid in the locality and people are going very far to pray. this project.

MASJID CONSTRUCTION

TEACHER SPONSORSHIP

This is our new project in Nepal in which UWT will be paying a monthly sum to teachers who will give

an Islamic educa� on in a Masajid and a Maktab in their local community. A total of 15 teachers have

been helped by this project.

NEPAL

WATER HAND PUMP

50 Water Hand Pumps were recently constructed. 290 are under construc� on at the moment.

This sponsorship covers food, clothing, tui� on fees, laundry, pocket money and travelling expenses.

Besides this the students will also be provided with religious books. A total of 50 students have been

helped by this project.

HIFDH SPONSORSHIP

This was a new project in Nepal. The Masjid has been constructed in the village of Paschim Kushaha. There was no masjid in the locality and people are going very far to pray. 95 families have been helped by this project.

MASJID CONSTRUCTION

Thirteen schools in Malawi are being subsidised to ensure that free education can be provided to

UMMAH CHILDREN ACADEMY

Approximately 700 orphans are aboard this orphanage and receive a free, comprehensive education.

PAKISTAN

ISAAR ACADEMY

This is a new project under which Ummah welfare Trust will the fund Isaar Academy to support the

poor, disabled children. In this institution Isaar Academy is providing (free of cost) high quality secular & Islamic educati n and vocati nal training facilitie to over 100 children.

NEW MUSLIM SPONSORSHIP

Children, previously working as bonded labourers, are being provided with monthly support, including food, clothing and educa� onal assistance.

BRAILLE QURAN

This is a new project under which Braille Qurans will printed and distributed amongst the blind

people of Pakistan.

WATER WELLS

75 Water Wells have been constructed recently. There are 250 Water Wells under constructi n at

the moment.

HOUSE CONSTRUCTION

This programme will build 123 homes for poor families who are currently living in extremely poor

conditions.

MASJID CONSTRUCTION

Over 30 Masajid are currently under construc� on; they will all be fully equipped (including wudu

areas.)

TECHNICAL COLLEGE

Free technical educati n is being provided here to poor students in the district of Nowshera. Some

of the courses on offer include: surveying, drafting, CAD, electrical training and carpentry. One

hundred and forty students are being helped.

UMMAH CHILDREN ACADEMY IN WANA

An orphanage in South Waziristan that supports hundreds of orphans with free educa� on, food and clothing.

UMMAH CENTRE FOR THE DISABLED

Sixty � ve children with special needs, receive comprehensive support, including education,

rehabilitation and nutrition.

HIFDH SPONSORSHIP

811 young students are being supported to memorise the Noble Qur’an.

DIALYSIS CENTRE

Hundreds of poor people are receiving free dialysis treatment at the Ummah Dialysis centre in

Swabi.

This is our regular project in Pakistan in which UWT will be paying a monthly amount to the teachers

who will give an Islamic educa� on in Masajids and Maktabs in the local communities. A total of 470

teachers have been helped by this project.

TEACHER SPONSORSHIP

AQEEQAH

196 Aqeeqah and Animal Sacri� ces took place this month; their was meat cooked and provided to the children at the UCA and nearby madrassahs.

ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP

This is an ongoing project for Orphan sponsorship. We are currently sponsoring 1423 orphans in

Pakistan.

WIDOW SPONSORSHIP

This is an ongoing project for widow’s sponsorship. We are currently sponsoring 224 widows in

Pakistan.

HARDSHIP CASES

This project aim is intended to support people who are su� ering from acute poverty by providing fi ancial assistance for their medical treatment, medicine, housing etc.

DIR DISABLED CENTRE

This is a new project under which Ummah Welfare Trust supports 124 disabled children in the

“Armaghan Special Rehabilitation Centre” in District ASRO. We are providing a free, quality educa� on and vocati nal training facilities to these most vulnerable children.

PALESTINE

FOOD VOUCHERS

Two thousand fi e hundred families receive a £25 food voucher every month. They then purchase

their day to day needs from selected supermarkets.

ISLAMIC BOOKS

This is a new project in Pakistan. Different Islamic books will be distributed among various Islamic

institution across Pakistan .

WATER DISTRIBUTION PROJECT IN GAZA

This project provides clean drinking water directly to households and 20 schools in Gaza who do not

have a direct supply of water. 14,000 students and 200 families are benefiting from this.

TRAUMA CENTRE

This is a new project in Palestine. The construction of a two story building has been completed. The

centre will provide continued psycho social support to trauma vic� ms in Gaza.

HIFDH SPONSORSHIP

One hundred & fi y Hifdh students and 10 teachers are being given monthly support.

HOUSE CONSTRUCTION

Under this project we have identified 81 special hardship cases shelters in Gaza to reconstruct and rehabilitate these shelters to be a safe and appropriate for accommodation for targeted families in

Three Thousand & thirty three orphan children are being given monthly support.

ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP

This project will give orphans a new direction and will fulfill their basic needs of food, transporta-ti n, school fees, course work fees etc. UWT will continue in Philippines covering 50 orphans.

HIFZ SPONSORSHIP

Under this project, we will continue to sponsor 150 children in 3 di� erent ins� tutes and will be paying for their boarding, lodging, food and teaching expenses.

TEACHER SPONSORSHIP

This is the continuation of our teacher sponsorship program in Philippines. UWT will continue to sponsor 84 poor Ulema for a period of 10 months.

PHILIPPINES

DA’WAH CENTRE

The centre will provide an Islamic educa� on to the local men, women & young children. The centre will act as an information point for non-Muslims and Muslim's alike where appropriate free litera-

Under this project fi ancial support was given to 42 widows in Palestin . Each widows was given £360 .

Under this project, 30 new businesses are being in Philippines The targeted beneficiaries are those

widows, orphan s & poor people who are vulnerable & dependent.

The project has been undertaken to reduce their level of dependency. Trisikad & Fishing boats were

given to the beneficiaries.

INCOME GENERATION PROJECT

3,000 families are now drinking clean drinking water on a daily basis due to this project being

renewed. Currently we have 3 water tankers in operation. They have been in operation since 2011.

SOMALIA

TEACHER SPONSORSHIP

Fi� y � ve teachers, across four regions of Somalia, are being reimbursed to provide free a Islamic

education to poor children.

MASJID CONSTRUCTION

Masjid is currently under construc� on village in Lungi port Loko district .

SUDAN

EDUCATION CENTRE

Ummah Welfare Trust is covering the running expenses of Umar Ibn Khattab school in Kassala. The

school can now provide a free educati n to hundreds of children.

BAIDOA MEDICAL CLINIC

This is an exceptional medical centre in Baidoa which provides free medical care, treatment and

medication to thousands of patients per year. 1,050 pa� ents are treated a month.

UMMAH CENTRE FOR THE BLIND

A total of 30 blind children have been helped by this project which will cover their food, medica-

tion, shelter, education, clothing etc.

HIFZ SPONSORSHIP

One hundred and fift young students are being supported to memorize the Noble Qur’an.

SIERRA LEONE

SYRIA

MEDICAL AID

The objective of this project was to provide orthopaedic consumables to hospitals for three months with medica� on, to reduce morbidity and mortality in these locations and improve well-being.

ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP

This is our regular project in which we will concentrate on delivering monthly � nancial assistance to 3,000 orphan children living inside Syria.

BREAD BAKERY

Ummah Welfare Trust is supporting bread bakeries in Syria. The bakeries, covering different loca-

tions, provide free bread to 1,600 families on a daily basis.

Under this project, UWT will provide food baskets to thousands of families in Idlib inside Syria. 3720

families will be given food packs every two months, this is dependant upon the family’s size (i.e.

larger families will receive more than one food pack).

EMERGENCY RELIEF

ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP

Sixty two orphans are receiving monthly support. Each orphan receives an allowance of £25 per

month for food, clothing and educa� on.

INJURED FAMILIES SUPPORT

Each injured person will receive an allowance of $50 per month for food, clothing and educa� on.

WIDOWS SUPPORT

This is our new project for the support of widows. Under this project UWT will support a total of

2661 widows.

BOOKS

This is our new project which will concentrate on delivering 3900 books to 11 schools inside the

Syria. It will help the children to continue the education without any hardship.

SCHOOL SUPPORT

Six new schools are being supported with this particular project. Teachers are being reimbursed

for teaching materials, books etc which are being provided for free to the students.

UK

LUTON HOMELESS

Under this project cooked food (Biryani and Curry) will be provided on each Friday to 100 homeless families across Luton.

YEMEN

SCHOOL SUPPORT

This is a new project under which UWT will provide funds for the opera� onal expenses

(staff salaries) for an educa� on center in Al khokha camp.

In this center hundreds of Erithereian refugees are getting a free Islamic educa� on.

EMERGENCY RELIEF

Thousands of Yemeni civilians found themselves homeless and in desperate need due to the cur-

rent civil war.

With the current situation in Yemen there are thousands of refugees in need of food, especially the

more vulnerable: newborns, the ill and elderly.

GRENFELL TOWER SUP-

This is our new project in UK. Under this project we have given cash assistance to 40 affected families of Grenfell tower.

Countless children today are growing up accustomed to nothing but poverty and hardship. Many

have never had the chance to go to school; others must battle illness or disease; while others have

never seen their parents.

Through Ummah Welfare Trust's Eid Gift project, we have provided a moment of joy and normality

to thousands of children across the globe with your support.
