3RD GRADUATION CEREMONY A SUCCESS

The 3rd graduation ceremony was held on 29th May. We had 1272 graduates during this year’s graduation ceremony. This year’s Honoris Causa was Dr. Nderitu Ndegwa, a dedicated pioneer civil servant. The university recognised his contributions to the country through his activities as a pioneer Kenyan economist. Mr. Ndegwa has contributed immensely to the development of Kenya’s economic and monetary system. He spearheaded the establishment of the Central Bank of Kenya, and Kenya’s own monetary system. Prior to this, as the rst African Head of Civil Service, he also contributed to the africanization of the Kenyan civil service following the attainment of independence. He has also contributed to the development of society through various economic initiatives and establishment of education institutions.DeKUT is the rst university to graduate the double intake cohorts who were admitted in the academic year 2011-2012. We managed to achieve this because the university has an accelerated learning programme that has seen our student’s graduate ahead of their peers across the country.
