A young man took his girlfriend out for dinner and when they sat down, he laid an elaborate box on the table for her birthday. All the while they were eating dinner she just kept thinking about the box and it was big and she wanted to know what was inside. All she could think about was what was in the box. Finally dinner was over. “Can I open the box now?” “Yeah, you can open the box.” She opened the box and pulled out a pillow. “Oh, wow, I mean, this is a nice pillow ... but it’s a pillow,” she said dejectedly. She even turned the pillow over thinking something might be taped underneath, but there was nothing. “Well, thank you,” she said with obvious disappointment. Her boyfriend then got up from the table, took the pillow from her and laid it on the floor. He got down on one knee, took her by the hand and said, “Will you marry me?” She forgot about the pillow. The one who gave her the pillow now became a lot more important. Never take your blessings for granted. Never forget the One who gave them to you (Ps. 103:2)! -R. FORGET THE PILLOW!

A young man took his girlfriend out for dinner and when they sat down, he laid

an elaborate box on the table for her birthday. All the while they were eating dinner

she just kept thinking about the box and it was big and she wanted to know what was

inside. All she could think about was what was in the box.

Finally dinner was over. “Can I open the box now?”

THOSE IN NEED OF OUR PRAYERS Larry Alford is healing well at home from his knee replacement surgery. Donna Bentley’s out patient eye surgery went well. She will need a few days to relax and recuperate. Tiny Blankenship, Debbie Alford’s cousin, is fighting liver cancer in Birmingham. Veronica Conley suffered a stroke on Wednesday. She is in Baptist South room 464 in the Neuro ICU unit. No calls or visitors at this time. George & Mary Lucy Crapps are becoming more independent as their care givers are only with them during the day. See Laurie Morris to help with meals. Deaneillia Gladyzs ask for prayers for her Mom who had a stroke. Jess Hall, a former member, is suffering with serious dementia. Please keep him and his wife, Millie, in prayer. Their address is: 31526 Lower Oxbow Trace, Fulshear, TX 77441. Kathy Long, Kevin and Keith’s mother, is doing well after the brain tumor removal in Atlanta. She will soon be going to spend a few days at a cancer center. Alex McCartha’s surgery went well. He had his tonsils and adenoids taken out and is now enduring the healing process at home...thanks to pain medications. Linda Patterson, a friend of Katrina Harris, has some very difficult cancer issues to deal with. She has upcoming tests on June 25 to see how far it has spread. Keep James Pugh in prayer that he will come to know God in obedience. Suzy Taylor and the passing of Tom. We extend our sympathies to Wes and Pam Blankenship as their baby passed away this last week prior to her birth. Their address for cards along with their son Miles is: 421 Weatherly Club Road, Pelham, AL 35124. The family has requested no calls or social media at this time. Pam is David & Polly Short’s daughter.

We extend our condolences to Jeff Jenkins and family in the passing of Laura Jenkins on Wednesday. Her funeral services were yesterday in Lewisville, TX. The Jenkins address is: 1040 Laurel Oak Drive, Flower Mound, TX 75028.

2019 VBS Service Project: Help us stock Child Protect’s shelves! The list of needs is posted in each foyer. You can also give Lindsay Smith a check made payable to “Child Protect.” All monetary donations are 100% tax deductible. Please place items in “The Claw!!” in the foyer during VBS week and the week to follow.

Vacation Bible School begins tonight at 5 pm. Monday—Wednesday, the classes start at 6:30 pm. The theme this year is “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from Proverbs 17:17a. There are classes for all ages from the youngest to the adults. Parents are asked to register their kids at http://www.ucoc.org/vbs. We will also be needing individual packaged snacks and drinks. Remember our annual hot dog supper at 5 pm Wednesday night the 26th.

June 30th is a 5th Sunday. Billy Hilyer will be preaching at the AM service and Randy Medlin will preach at 1 PM. After the AM service, we will all leave for lunch on our own and then come back by 1 PM.

NOTICE: We have several used wall cabinets that is not needed in our renovation. Anyone interested in having these, may see Leon Willis or Shannon Clifton.

Wiregrass Christian Youth Camp has informed us that Lynleigh Stephen has received a top honor Bible knowledge award during her week at camp. We are thankful she is writing God’s Word on her heart.

The Summer Sewing School is scheduled for July 15th, 5:30 to 9 pm in the Seminar room.
