Montclare Children’s School is a preschool located in Manhattan, New York, that caters to providing a safe, enriching and stimulating environment for the growth and development of children of 2-4 years of age.
About Us
Since 2000, we have been providing an early childhood program designed to instill a life-long love of learning in children. Our curriculum promotes cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth of the child.
Our Teaching Ideologies
Children of 2-4 years of age benefit extensively from a structured routine of teacher-directed enriching activities.
The separation of children from their parents needs to be handled with tact and gentleness.
Several pre-academic skills can be instilled in preschoolers through developmentally-appropriate, multi-sensory hands-on activities.
Our 2s Program
Our program for the 2-year-olds includes:
A gradual separation process from parents and caregivers
Access to our expansive facility with the classroom acting as a secure home-base
A wholesome campus including gyms, a rooftop play-space, an art studio, a music room and a library
Our 3s program
Our program for the 3-year-olds includes:
A longer school day, with the enrollment option of a half-day or full-day
An environment that is conducive to socialization and cooperative play
Table-top activities that involve handling manipulatives, creating patterns and solving puzzles
Our 3s Program
A multi-sensory, hands-on pre-writing program
Investigation of the basic elements of math through block-building and sorting activities, to name a few
Participation in a theatrical experience called The Three Piggy Opera that culminates in a musical performance to which parents are invited
Our 4s Program
Our program for the 4-year-olds includes:
A full-day schedule
An exploration of how children are similar to and different from their peers through a unit of study called “All About Me”
An exploration of the community through learning about and visiting the local fire department, public library and post office, among other locations
Our 4s Program
Participation in the ‘Handwriting Without Tears’ program aimed at helping children experiment with their own writing
Participation in a filmmaking project with the guidance of staff from Writopia Lab
Our Vision For Your Child’s Development
Our early childhood program has been designed keeping in mind the developmental needs of a growing child. We help children become more confident and self-reliant. We also prepare the child with social, emotional, cognitive and pre-academic skills to aid a smooth transition to kindergarten.
