Monoxivent is guided today by Monoxivent's original values: acommitment to product quality, customer service, innova�on,business integrity, and a high regard for individual contribu‐�ons. Monoxivent, founded in 1953, has grown from a smallshop to a thriving corpora�on that looks to carry its momen‐tum into the years ahead. The company, which specializes insource capture systems and products, competes with the na‐�on's elite in regard to vehicle and fume exhaust solu�ons.

Monoxivent has grown and moved into a state of the art of‐fice, produc�on, and fabrica�on facility in 2013. The corporateoffices are located in a building adjacent to the manufacturingfacility. This move has allowed the Monoxivent team to serveits customers with more efficiency, while maintaining thequality that the company has built its founda�on upon. Theoffices and produc�on space for Monoxivent, and parentCrawford Co., are a combined 67,000‐sq. feet, located in RockIsland, IL. Monoxivent also acquired addi�onal capabili�esand support in 2000. Monoxivent has "in‐house" access to alaser‐cu�ng center, a CNC punch, a plasma cu�ng system,and a team of specialty‐weld designers.

MONOXIVENT HISTORY:

Monoxivent, founded in1953, has grown from asmall shop to a thrivingcorpora�on. The"Monoxivent brand" orig‐inated under the KENT‐MORE corporateumbrella in Detroit, MI.In the early days, thecompany promoted "get‐�ng rid of exhaust fumes,without was�ng heat!" Aselling point that holdstrue in the 21st Century.Health, safety, and effi‐ciency were also big sell‐ing points in the 1950's,as they are today.

The Monoxivent Jr. wasan early top seller andwas targeted towardsgasoline service sta�ons.The system offered an in‐expensive, yet prac�calmethod of elimina�ngfumes. A version of this is offered today with high‐temper‐ature hose and door ports.

Underfloor systems were also very popular from the out‐set. Neoprene, stainless steel, and galvanized tubing wereall popular op�ons, especially in the 1960's and 1970's.

The company moved to Moline, IL/Rock Island, IL (Quad�Cities), in the 1980's. ��5��;�throughout the nation in the 1980's and�through the 1990's. ��0�� "DSP" ;��((�(�to the corporate�name in the 1990's. Today the company is referred to as�Monoxivent once again.

Crawford Co. then purchased Monoxivent in 2000 and�brought the company into its' corporate mix. In recent�years�Monox�vent has continued to diversify its' standard product and�has increased production of custom items. Sales have continued to grow and the Monoxivent "standard product offering" now totals over ��00 items!

OVERVIEW:Monoxivent’s Hose Reels are the premier solutionfor vehicle exhaust fume extraction. Hose Reelsoffer a convenient and efficient method for ex‐tracting harmful emissions from all types of serv‐ice areas. A variety of tailpipe adapters attach toall types of vehicles. Monoxivent Hose Reels may be mounted in three positions: from an overheadsupport structure, from a side support structure, or on the floor. Ceiling mountsare most common, however wall mounts and floor mounts are options when over‐head space is not available.

Tailpipe Adapters: 9000, 9000‐W

The 23827 and TCA are the most common Tailpipe Adapters for hose reel systems.However, a wide variety of other styles, configurations, and options are available.

The 23827 has an oval body constructed of 600‐degree F heavy wall neoprene rub‐ber. The 23827 is available for 3” and 4” diameter hose.

The TCA (Tapered Cone Adapter) is constructed of stainless steel and fits hose sizesof 4”, 5”, 6”, and 8” (larger sizes available).

A variety of other adapter options are available.

DMHR‐Fan: 9000, 9000‐W

The D‐Series Blower is used for direct mounting to reels and is direct drive, utiliz‐ing a radial type wheel. The housing and wheel are spark‐proof and constructed ofcast aluminum. The fan is available in either 0.5 HP or 1.0 HP. The standard motoris TEFC and is available in a variety of voltage/phase configurations and largerhorse power motors. D Series Blowers can be configured to mount independentlyof hose reels.

Exhaus�ng Hose Op�ons: 9000, 9000‐W

4000 SeriesThe Series 4000 Hose serves as Monoxivent's most common hose for vehicle exhaustsource capture. The hose easily withstands temperatures at 600‐degrees F and isideal for use with hose reels or overhead exhaust systems. The 4000 Series Hose hasexceeded 600‐degrees F during certified testing and has met an intermittent tem‐perature rating of 1250‐degrees F. The 4000 hose also meets Military Spec. 62028for temperature rating (1000‐degrees F for 72 hours).

5000 SeriesThe Series 5000 Hose is a versatile option and may be used for Hose Reels, overheadexhaust systems, underground systems, welding, industrial use, light‐duty materialhandling, and agricultural use. The 5000 hose withstands temperatures up to 500‐degrees F.

OVERVIEW:Monoxivent offers a wide variety of Oversized HoseReels within the XL SERIES. These reels are offeredwith 24"‐ and 36"‐diameter drums. The reels accom‐modate between 8" and 18" diameter hose. Thereels are designed for specialized applications, butnot limited to: aircraft ventilation, fume source cap‐ture, large diesel source capture, marine applica‐tions, and a broad‐range of industrial applications.As an option, reels are available with explosion‐proof motors and controls. Finishes include powdercoated and stainless steel.

Monoxivent’s L SERIES is offered as spring‐ ormotor‐operated. The L SERIES provides versatilitywithin the product mix and bridges the gap betweenthe standard 9000 and XL reels. The spring reel fea‐tures single or dual cassettes, while the motor ver‐sion is powered by a tube‐type motor. The L has a48” wide drum and holds up to 44’ of 8” diameterexhaust hose.

OVERVIEW:Monoxivent's conventional overhead systems are the user‐friendly and cost‐effective solution that meets a wide‐vari‐ety of demands.

These systems incorporate many hose types and liftingconfigurations. The hose types range from high‐tempera‐ture silicone to medium‐temperature polyester. The liftingconfigurations include ropes and pulleys and cable bal‐ancers. The retractable telescoping system and the swivelbooms offer other alternatives for overhead exhaust ex‐traction.

The self‐storing systems have the "flex drops" stored under the floor inthe ductwork. In the plug‐in configuration the flex hose simply plugsinto the floor outlet; and the flex drops are stored, above ground, onhangers.

OVERVIEW:The Portable Fume Eliminator is your answer for indoor exhaust capture, when haz‐ardous fumes are present. The Eliminator was developed for use in shops where aconventional overhead or underfloor system is not practical.

The Eliminator is ideal for truck, bus, agricultural, and construction equipment applica‐tions. The Eliminator is easy to use and maneuver. In just seconds, the Eliminator canbe moved into position, connected to a 120‐volt power source (three phase optionavailable), and turned on.

Due to its’ small size, storing the Eliminator is not a problem. The compact base has afootprint of 20” x 28” (standard Eliminator) or 32” x 72” (hose reel Eliminator). De‐pending on the model, the vertical mast has a stored height of 90” or 120”.

The adjustable mast is a key feature. It can be easily raised or lowered to fit all top‐and mid‐body exhaust pipes. For under chassis, simply uncouple the hose on the ver‐tical mast and couple it to an under chassis clamping nozzle.

For truck applications, the main vertical stack features a 45‐degree end with an 8”opening. The configuration allows for use with straight, taper cut, turn out, and raincap vertical stacks. For bus applications, or for vehicles with a high horizontal exit ex‐haust pipe, the Eliminator features a straight end with an 8” mouth.

The Eliminator is available with or without a fan. The fan is a 1.5‐HP, 120‐volt, single‐phase unit, which produces approximately 700‐800 CFM of exhaust. The dischargehose is available with two storage options: on a single hose storage mast, or on aMonoxivent hose reel.

HEPA SYSTEMS • THE PHS

The PHS features a portable design(26”x26”), while maintaining a highCFM. When floor space is at a pre‐mium and performance is in de‐mand, the PHS meets thechallenge!

The system is shipped assembledand ready to use. The PHS is avail‐able with a 7’ or 10’ arm, or with‐out an arm for fixed station or hardduct.

The PHS is supplied with a24”x24”x2” poly pre‐filter (#1) andwith a 24”x24”x12” HEPA filter(#3). The HEPA is a 99.97% filter.An optional 24”x24”x2” carbon fil‐ter is also available (#2). Accessingthe filters is easy with a hingeddoor on the front and pull‐outtrays.

CARTRIDGE SYSTEMS • THE PCFS

The PCFS utilizes a multi‐pur‐pose cartridge filter.

The unit is compact and user‐friendly, while offering a highCFM and easy positioning ofthe arm and hood.

The foot print is just 27”square ‐ perfect for tight con‐fines.

Swivel wheels and an easypush handle are an added ben‐efit. The unit ships assembledand ready for use!

The PCFS is supplied with aunique sealed manual air pulsecleaning system (photos, atlower right).

Simply swing open the air plenum access door and the inside of thecartridge filter is accessible. For cleaning, use shop air ‐ with an airwand. The cleaning procedure requires no pulse valves or electricalcomponents, thus preventing needless failures. The unit is suppliedwith a filter monitor light.

The standard filter is a 12” x 24”polyester/cellulose media.

Optional cartridge filters available include:12” x 24” flame retardant media or a 12” x24” special coated filter for moisture/light oilapplications. The unit is supplied with an ac‐cess door for easy filter change and dust binaccess.

Nanofiber Media Commodity Filter Media

Nanofiber Filter Media is the distinguishing factor in Monoxivent’s car‐tridge filters. The Nanofiber Media traps more dust on the surface of thefilter than conventional depth loading types of filter media such as cellu‐lose, polyester, or cellulose/polyester blends. The resulting dust cake iseasily cleaned off during the automated collector cleaning cycles, ensuringlongest filter life and highest efficiency rated MERV 13 based on ASHRAE52.2 test standards.

Nanofiber filter media combinesboth large and small fibers totrap more particle sizes withoutrestricting airflow.

Conventional media has spaces ofup to 60 microns between fibers,allowing dust to become deeplyembedded thereby shortening fil‐ter life.

MNX Filter Media Pleats are shorter and stiffer, which helps minimizedust entrapment and simplify filter cleaning. With the 1.5” option, thepleat wall is less likely to collapse or bend, which can trap dust and pre‐vent its release. However, the 2” option allows for more versatility withregard to CFM.1.5” pleat: 190‐sq. ft.2” pleat: 254‐sq. ft.

The MNX‐DDT’s areself‐contained dust collec‐tors designed as a worksta‐�on for capturingcontaminant used in grind‐ing and finishing opera‐�ons. The MNX‐DDT‐2000has a 3‐HP motor and has aperformance up to 2,000cfm. The MNX‐DDT‐3000has a 5‐HP motor and has aperformance up to 3,000cfm. The MNX‐DDT‐2000has a bed measuring52”x52”, while the ‐3000measures 52”x78”. Themodels have a powerful 200 fpm minimum downward airflow capture, hinged side‐wingpanels, built in fluorescent light, filter cartridges featuring nanofiber technology, a MERV13 filtra�on efficiency ra�ng, and an ergonomic design. The unit is constructed of 12 and14 gauge steel. Large par�cles are collected in the 1.4 cubic foot capacity dust drawer(s).The media in each cartridge incorporates an outer layer of ultra fine Ultra‐Web microfibersthat intercept small par�cles at the surface of the media. 1000/2000: Metal interlocking hose has aunique floppy‐type interlocking construc�on,allowing the hose to move and bend easily.The 1000 is constructed of 302‐stainless steel,while the 2000 is constructed of electro galva‐nized carbon steel.

3000: Monoxivent's "no crush" hose. The con‐voluted neoprene design has been specificallyformulated to handle 600‐degree F tempera‐tures. The hose, which does not contain a wirehelix, returns back to its' original shape if"crushed" by any vehicles or other machinery.

4000: Monoxivent's most common hose forvehicle exhaust source capture. The hose eas‐ily withstands temperatures at 600‐degrees Fand is ideal for use with hose reels or over‐head exhaust systems. The hose has exceeded1000‐degrees F during cer�fied tes�ng and israted up to 1250‐degrees F with intermi�entuse.

5000: May be used for hose reels, overheadexhaust systems, underground systems, weld‐ing, industrial use, light‐duty material han‐dling, and more. The 5000 has been tested,using the bake test for Con�nuous Duty at350‐degrees F. The hose has been tested, withan air passing standard, for Intermi�ent use up

to 550‐degrees F. 6000: Serves as a welding extrac�on hose. The6000 is flame retardant and vinyl coated with apolyester embedded steel‐wire helix. The helixis permanently bonded for a con�nuous, un‐interrupted inner and outer surface.

7000: The 7000 Series is unique with an outercorrosion resistant mechanical bond helix. Avariety of temperature ra�ngs are availablewithin the series, from 300‐degrees F up to amaximum of 2010‐degrees F. Hose fabricvaries depending on required temperature rat‐ing.

D SERIES OVERVIEW:Monoxivent's D Series fan is a direct drive, radial blade type blower. Thehousing and wheel are constructed of cast aluminum. EASE OF USE:Monoxivent's UnderDuct fiberglass duct can be directly placed onto apea gravel bed in a graded trench, then backfilled with pea gravel elimi‐na�ng concrete encasement. Simple joining methods provide for easyand quick installa�on, and the FRP duct is impervious to minerals orsalts present in soil.

EFFICIENCY:

Monoxivent's UnderDuctsystems can be sealed toachieve a water and air�ght system. A leak‐freesystem and smooth inte‐rior surface will ensurethe air reaches its des�‐na�on efficiently andwithout contamina�on.

MATERIAL INTEGRITY:Monoxivent's UnderDuctFRP fiberglass duct is fila‐ment wound with two chemically inert materials – glass and resin. Thefinished product provides longer underground service life than galva‐nized sheet metal, stainless steel, or PVC coated sheet metal. The fila‐ment winding provides greater hoop strength resul�ng in a strongerduct than other methods of construc�on such as hand lay‐up. The fin‐ished product is lighter than steel while offering superior acous�calquali�es and corrosion resistance.

LABORATORY FUMEHOOD DUCT

Lab Duct can handle awide variety of chemicalfumes, including strongacids and caus�cs. Con‐densate formed in theduct system can concen‐trate these chemicals dueto evapora�on, makingthem even more corro‐sive. Because a Lab is con‐sidered occupied space, the structural and exterior surface of theduct requires a low smoke and flame ra�ng per UL‐181, as well aslow fire‐gas toxicity.

HYBRID‐CF DUCT

Monoxivent’s Hybrid‐CF (Corrosive Fume) ducthas an interior layer of corrosion resistant vinylester resin while the structural and exterior lay‐ers are fabricated with Monoxivent’s 824 Un‐derDuct Resin. This unique blend offers the required corrosionresistance o�en needed with the protec�on of a low smoke, lowflame Class 1 Duct that is required for use in occupied buildings.
