Monopoly Junior Game Take a look at the picture below. What do you see? What do you wonder?
This picture was taken after about 30 minutes of game play. I have the dark pieces and my son has the lighter pieces. Every time I land on his property I have to pay him the value of that property. Every time he lands on my property he has to pay me the value of the property.
1. Who is winning? Take a guess.
2. How do you judge who is winning?
3. What would you need to know or see to get a better idea of who is winning the game? Pictures of our cash:
My son’s cash:
My cash: Pictures of the property: My son has the lighter pieces. I have the dark. I split the board up into two pictures.
• Who is winning?
• Who is winning going by cash?
• Who is winning going by property value?
• If we kept playing this until there is a winner who do you think would win and why?
Extension: There is a rule in this specific game. If a player owns both properties of the same color then the opponent pays double the fee when landing on either one of the properties. How does that change who might win the game?
