Page | 1 MONITORING ACTIVITY REPORT Activity Profile City Savings Bank under its Project TeACH Program has partnered with the Coalition for Better Education (CBE) in the conduct of the training on ICT Integration using the PBL Approaches last October 21-25, 2013. 25 teachers coming from 25 selected schools in the National Capital Region attended the training. Out of the 25 trainees, only 14 teachers have implemented their projects. CBE together with the officers of City Savings Bank in Manila and Cebu conducted a monitoring visit to each of the 14 implementing teachers last March 11-14, 2014 as part of CBE’s Training Program. The school visits are usually conducted 4-6 months after the training program to evaluate the results of the training and the project. An evaluation report with corresponding recommendations is submitted to the partner organization and DepEd for information and appropriate action. Activity Highlights The monitoring visit started with a short courtesy meeting with the school principal. Portfolios as well as project outputs of the students were also presented. A focus group discussion among the students was the highlight of the visit. Students were asked to share their insights and experiences and the life-long lessons and values they acquired when doing the project. The FGD results are included in the separate Research Report. M&E Forms were accomplished by the trained teachers. The forms include: Use of Technology Survey. A form used to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional technology using PBL and its implementation in the school. PBL Survey. A form used to assess the effectiveness of the teacher in the conduct of the PBL-based activity in their class. PBL Satisfaction Survey. A monitoring form for the school or department head of the trained teacher to assess the performance of the trained teacher during the conduct of their project. These monitoring tools will be used to package the terminal report and the appropriate actions to undertake for future references. A report is prepared and submitted to the Department of Education and City Savings Bank for information. A focus group discussion was also held to 6 teachers who were not able to implement their project. It was
decided during the meeting that the teachers will pursue the implementation of their projects in the next
school year.

The rest of the teachers who have not yet implemented their projects committed to start the implementation
this next school year. CBE will continue to monitor these teachers including those who have implemented and
are currently implementing. Validation of the candidates for proficiency certification will happen in September.
CBE and CSB plan to conduct a graduation ceremony in October of this year in time for the celebration of the
World Teachers Day.
