Alfred Park
The park became famous during the Indian Freedom Struggle. This was the same place where the famous encounter between the British police and Indian revolutionary took place. Chandra Shekhar Azad had taken the vow that come what may “he will never let himself into the hands of the imperial police”. Therefore he took the pseudonym 'Azad' which means 'Free' in Hindi.
Khusrau Bagh
This walled garden houses the tomb of the prince who was brutally executed in the war for succession. Involved in this were Khusrau and Khurram - the two sons of emperor Jahangir. When fight for succession followed, it is said that Prince Khurram eliminated Prince Khusrau, his half-brother and wrested the power from his father. Prince Khurram grew up to become Shah Jahan who commissioned Taj Mahal in the memory of his deceased wife. Near Khusrau’s tomb is the unoccupied tomb intended for his sister. There is another tomb that belongs to Khusrau’s mother, who had poisoned herself in despair at Khusrau' s oppositon to his father Jahangir.
