CONCEPT BEHIND FLIGHT 008:

Departing all the way from BKK (Bangkok) I was inspired by all of the different cultures and traditions. Different places molded up their design uniquely. I started collecting ideas in my mind from places to places that I have visited (Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, England, and several states in USA), and use them at my best to expand my vision and ultimately evolve my design.

FLIGHT_008 is simply my first departure into real design world. This portfolio is simply my luggage and now, I am ready for boarding.

This environmentally friendly package is redesigned for General Electric

high-end light bulbs. It is highly encouraged nowadays in the design world

to design with stainability in mind.

Therefore, this package is designed base of recycled material. The color

scheme is meant to promote environmental design. The material chosen

is much stronger than the original, which helps protect the fragile bulbs.

Do you know that the landfills all over the world might be full by 2010? If

that happens then where will all the billion tons of garbage each day go?

Also do you know that 50% of landfill is consist of paper?

People nowadays just consume and use whatever that make their life

more convenient regardless of acknowledging themselves about effects

they might have cause. Therefore this book is design to educate the public

about the cause and effect of paper consumption and also to encourage

them to think before throwing a piece of paper away next time.

Inside this book there are also solutions, which we can help making the

difference as an individual and many ways to recycle paper.

In terms of design, the book has more of a mass production finish with all

of the registration marks still left hanging due to the urge to just produce.

The color pallet started of with a muddy green and progress to a fresh

green toward the solution part at the end of the book.

Also to promote recycling this book is printed on a recycled paper stock.

The key to redesign spirits involved many factors. Among those factors,

the most important one to be carried through is brand equity. In this

project, there are two divisions consisted of Evolutionary redesigned and

Revolutionary redesigned.

For Evolutionary redesigned, given scale one to ten, it should stand on

3. Customers should not be able to recognize the difference upon the

design at all. On the other hand, revolutionary redesigned should stand

on a 10 where the whole design is changed, but yet still keeping entire

brand equity and some main characteristic. .

The brand equity of Gilbey’s is that it has been well established a long

time ago since 1857. Unlike many other brands nowadays in the market

that has been newly established, Gilbey’s uniquely stand out as a brand

with long successful history. Therefore, the design for Gilbey’s is leaning

towards historical look yet keeping the elegancy and classy character.

It is very important for every designers to always update themselves with

the latest information and design trend. We have to always be current and

know what is in and what has been out dated.

This project is a magazine redesign, and the magazine chosen was “PRINT”.

It has been redesign with more edges and the whole look is freshen up.

The color is much more lively and typography is much more sleek and

brave to attract all types of designer who are looking for something new

and different.

The color pallet is pretty much kept in a fresh range yet keeping the so-

phisticated design in a contemporary look. Some types are in vertical to

create the contrast and edginess. So freshen up and get inspired!

One of my teacher said, “a good design product came from combining

two things that has never been combine before.”

That is what inspired this lamp invention. The goal of this project is to

invent a lamp for an electrical company called LUMI. In terms of the re-

quirement, the sky is the limits. Whatever inspires you is what you will be

creating. As for packaging, it needs to speak of what the lamp concept is

and also design wise. The personality has to be carried out to the package

and most importantly protects and sells the product.

The lamp you see here is called Re3. It stands for reduce, reuse, redesign.

It is made out of CDs, which is one of the biggest waste in the landfills.

People nowadays purchase their music and movie straight from internet

into their MP3 player. A mass amount of CDs is dismissed and so, this

lamp would help reducing the CDs waste all over the world.

Despite the lamp’s environmental aspect, it is designed with class and

very modern. The light came out of it has a rainbow like effect and 20% of

the purchase will be donated to Green House Association.

Indoor pollution is one of the most dangerous problem we are facing in

the world today. Since it can not be seen with bare eyes, majority of

people remains unacknowledged about this on going problem, therefore

no action is taken to prevent it. The pollution is very close to an individual

, because it exist inside different parts of your home. So this book is de-

signed to educate the public of how they can prevent themselves and

even eliminate this problem.

In terms of design, the concept of this book is based on the fact that you

can not see this problem, but it is right in front of you. The typeface used

is Avenir to send out a waning and alerting message.

Throughout the whole book, the type and graphic will take up more and

more space to simulate the pollution that is building up quietly inside your

home. So be alert or your love ones might be next!

Nowadays, it is very important to bring out the characteristic of a wine

brand in order to differentiate a brand from the other hundreds on the

shelf. Wine market today is very competitive. Therefore a lot of wineries

had been redesigning their label. However they would not want to loose

their customer, so this is the part where evolutionary redesign comes in.

Throughout four years in academy, all projects created would require an

identity. Sometime it would be an invention and sometime it would be a
